Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr Lindell has provided exceptional treatment. I suffered with eye issues and infections for several years and saw multiple eye doctors during that time. It wasn't until I visited Dr Lindell that I got a thorough evaluation and sound treatment options. I have Sjogrens - an autoimmune condition that causes dry eyes. Dr Lindell took the time to listen to my symptoms, perform numerous tests, and recommend treatments. He looked at tear break-up time, meibomium gland structure, tear production, inflammation, and ocular surface issues. This was a breath of fresh air after visiting doctor after doctor who simply told me "use warm compresses" or "have you tried warm compresses" or "are you still using warm compresses?" So I wasted several years seeing eye doctors that didn't perform the most basic tests. Dr. Lindell suggested that I might get some relief from a new drug called Tryvaya. He was kind enough to provide free samples from his office for several weeks to see if it helped. It turns out that it was not effective for me, but I appreciated the effort, suggestion, and willingness to try. I have been so pleased with Dr Lindell's practice that I have taken my daughter to see him as well. I highly recommend Stoughton Eye Care and Eyewear. If you are having ocular discomfort, dry eyes, or other issues you should seriously consider scheduling a visit. He has spent more time with me than any other eye doctor and taken the time to really consider treatments for my condition.

Wait till covid is over I've been in there the past 2 days and almost all services you ask for they deny. Its basically a big room with a lady saying no sorry. And they are only open a short 4 hours.

Been to a lot of these folks as I travel a lot for my job, and I am a diabetic. As such, I thought I was getting a thorough examination until I stopped in here. The technology they use is second to none. Better than the eye doctor I was seeing at UW Hospital. Shelly spent almost 2 hours going through all the computer aided and 3D pictures. It was the most informative examination I have ever had. Thanks Shelly and the team!

I had an EXCELLENT experience with Stoughton Eye Care. I lost a contact 5 days before I was leaving on a trip. Being new to the area, I was worried I would have to go without until I returned. I called Stoughton Eye Care and explained the situation to the receptionist (who is amazing) and she got me in the next day. The exam experience with Dr. Sklolass was fantastic. She talked me through the exam and listened to my issues with my choice of mono-vision lenses. The best part was she called and asked for a super fast turn around on my contacts and she called my phone and texted me to let me know she had gotten my contacts in and I would have them for my trip. I've worn contacts and glasses since I was in 6th grade and this is the best experience and service from start to finish I've ever received! Thank You Stoughton Eye Care!

It’s actually been 2 years since I’ve visited but I have NEVER had such a positive experience with an optometrist and with the techs. They do a very thorough exam, actually take the time to educate you on concerns and just over all eye health, and have amazing technology that allows them to see the whole eye. The techs out front were super friendly, very patient in helping me find the perfect frame, and they take the time to make sure that the lens and frame are going to fit you the first time (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to send my glasses back to be adjusted!). They also have awesome technology to ensure the fit is perfect. Now, I have also never paid more for frames and lenses in my life but it was totally worth every penny as a daily glasses wearer with a high prescription. I will definitely be going back soon and recommend them to everyone!
