Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

This location of MyEyeDr. was absolutely amazing. After having a terrible experience at a different location, I decided to give this new location a chance. All of the staff we super nice and helpful picking out frames. The doctor was very friendly and explained more about my prescription and eyesight than I've had in the past.

I would love to say I found my "new" Herslof branch. I love the New Berlin one ,I think her name is Debbie/Dawn ? I forgot her name but she's the only one there except on Fridays when the Doctor is in. She was super nice & helpful. She helped me pick out my new frames. I will tell all my family and friends about this one. I use to go to Hales Corners one & they are so rude there. I hated going to get my frames there. I just knew they were going to be rude. They never call people back and they take there phone off the hook. So let me just finish this review out by saying IF YOU HAVE TO GO TO HERSLOF PLEASE DON'T GO TO THE HALES CORNERS OFFICE.DRIVE ALITTLE MORE TO THE NEW BERLIN ONE. YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE THERE INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH RUDE PEOPLE THAT HATE THERE JOB. I will always go back to the New Berlin one and make sure I tell all my family and friends about this office.Have A Great Day.. Thank you for reading this..

Had eye surgery and my vision got worse. Went to see Dr. Motisi and he got my vision pretty close to 20 25. Thanks a bunch. Also thanks to his staff for helping me get the right lenses for my glasses. I will recommand him to everyone.

Kathryn Strzyzewski  |  Rating: 5  |  Target Optical

I needed a temporary pair of reasonably priced glasses to help my vision in between eye surgeries. Karen M. (at the New Berlin Target Vision Center) was extremely kind, helpful and knowledgable. She took the time on the phone to look up and explain my vision insurance benefits. When we went to the optical center in the store this morning, we were able to continue working with her. When asked, she shared her opinion on the frames I was choosing from and explained why one might be better than the other for my needs. Super positve expereience from the time she answered the phone yesterday to the time we paid for my new glasses today. We will be back for further vision needs. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Herslof for at least 5yrs. (They take my insurance) They have always told me my eyes would never be perfect and that close to 20/20 vision was great for me. My last visit was a little over a month ago, I used my insurance to get low cost ($30 co pay)glasses. I decided I wanted contacts and scheduled an appointment else where as their out of pocket prices are a little expensive for me. I received this full eye exam else where and the doctor was in shock that my glasses were brand new. He in fact was able to get me to 20/20 vision with very little effort. I have been settling for YEARS with less than good vision. I will be cancelling my daughter's scheduled appointment and will never go back here. Now I will also have to pay out of pocket to replace my brand new glasses & the prescription safety glasses I had made for work with their less than accurate preprescription. I feel very sad for the people out there who cannot afford to pay more out of pocket and are forced to go here. They are 1 of 3 locations that accept my insurance leaving very little options.
