Contact lenses are small lenses that are in "contact" with your eyes. They are designed to correct refractive errors and keep your eyes healthy. The lenses are in the tear film on the cornea. Modern contact lenses are small lenses worn over the cornea of the eye. Modern contact lenses whether soft or hard. Most people wear soft contact lenses, but it wasn't that long ago that lenses were made of glass. Colored contact lenses can make your eyes more intense or completely change the color of your eyes, and costume contact lenses can help create special effects seen on the big screen.
What is the difference between glasses and contact lenses?
Unlike glasses, contact lenses do not limit the field of vision. With glasses, the field of vision is limited, causing people to have to turn their head to see something from the side.
Can I sleep in contact lenses?
Modern soft contact lenses allow enough oxygen to the eye, but when you sleep, your eyes are closed and, therefore, the access of oxygen to them is reduced.
What are the harms of contact lenses?
Prolonged contact lens wear causes the cornea to thin (keratocytes lose their ability to synthesize new tissue). This can happen even with proper lens wear 3-5 years after use. In the case of reaction to hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the main complication is the formation of new blood vessels.

Wonderful service and staff. I’ve since left the area, but this was my go-to eye doctor. Brian (I think was his name) Steinhauer was the doc I saw most often, and he’s always in a great mood and very knowledgable. Plus the front desk has the BEST mints.

I had a good experience while on the visit for my eye exam and in the store, but Dr. Parks has a very short window of "warranty" on prescriptions he writes. I would strongly suggest they lengthen this amount of time. I had my eye exam a few months ago and moved forward on ordering glasses only recently. The glasses prescription I was issued does not seem to work for my eyes and I had to return the glasses. I was told to revisit my doctor to review the prescription I was issued as that is likely the problem. When I called to see if I could make an appointment, I was told that his prescriptions are only guaranteed for 30 days. After that, you must pay for a new exam. This very short window of guarantee is not stated anywhere on the paperwork. In fact, the prescription says that it expires after one year. Therefore, I thought I had that amount of time to order. I've never experienced this short of a window of guarantee on an optometrist's prescription. I would think the window of time should be longer (the length of time the Rx is good for), or that they take the time to do an exam carefully while in-store. I would not recommend coming to this practice or place of business.

The staff was friendly and provided us with a full understanding of the services and costs before my daughter’s appointment. Dr Desai listened to my daughter’s concerns and spent a great deal of time with her during the exam (a service you don’t often get at a clinic). I made an appointment for myself because I was so pleased with the quality of service- we truly felt cared for! I highly recommend Eye Contact Madison West and we will be back every year for our annual exams!
