Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Yvette and Karla are amazing! I was having a terrible day and they went way above and beyond to help get me what I needed! I really appreciate you both and your amazing customer service skills! I will not go to another Stanton Optical as long as you both are at this location!

The time you really find out about a company is when things don't go quite right. I had some issues going from regular glasses to progressives. For the greater part of this process I was helped by Kathy, a patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable optician. At the end of this process, it was clear that this place is one of the few left that is still customer-care orientated.

Never Coming Back! DON'T COMR HERE. Waited for my glasses for 2 months. Everytime I call no answer. I called after a month to see where my glasses at, they said there was break in... I was like okay, they said it would be ready in a week and another month has passed and nothing. Got there got my glasses and they didn't even ask questions if it's okay or whatever. Not my first time getting a glasses so I know for sure they make sure you can see first out of them and make sure that everything is good. And they told me they have a wrong number for me that's why they couldn't call me, when they ask for my number twice last time I called. Just a frustrating place. Never coming back

Third annual visit, prescription is fluctuating between getting worse than better than worse again. Progressive lenses are of lower quality than what I had originally so seeing is a challenge. I complained last year that seeing was challenging but finally this year they checked and sure enough they never offered me the same quality as I receive at my previous eye doctor. Only told me that I was “doing the progressive thing wrong” I have been wearing progressives for 10 years. These people are friendly and act professionally. I will not be returning as a customer/patient.

I started my journey with Stanton at the end of July/early August when the dog ate my glasses. I came in with nothing. I made an eye appointment online and to my surprise when I arrived, it was a telehealth visit. When you book online, it mentions nothing about not having a doctor on site. I have pretty severe astigmatism and wanted an in-person doctor but I settled. The exam wasn’t thorough at all. I opted for their promotion: an eye exam with 2 pairs of glasses and 6 months worth of contacts. They didn’t have my lenses or contacts in stock so I left with the “next best thing.” Basically a pair of contacts that weren’t my prescription and I wore those for about a week while my glasses were being made. When I went to pick up my glasses, I discovered I couldn’t see out of either pair of glasses. I went back for an eye re-check appointment. But when I got there, I discovered that the doctor was not in the office because they scheduled me for an eye exam on a day that their doctor does not work. So I rescheduled another exam on Friday when the doctor would be there. I saw an actual doctor, who also was not thorough at all. He wrote me a new prescription, and I gave Stanton back my glasses to be fixed. They also had to re-order my contacts several times during this process. Throughout the entire process, I have visited the store easily 10 times now because they kept calling me or texting me and telling me that items were ready. I would later get to the store and they would either not know where the items had gone or tell me they weren’t there at all…after receiving text notifications to come and pick up my belongings. The last time that I visited the store, I called six times to confirm that my contacts and glasses were there. I was told that everything was ready. I got to the store, and they had lost all of my items. I had to go back home and remake this trip the very next day. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. Nobody will listen to anything that I have to say. I have never seen such a large turnover at any location ever and if I would’ve known that it was going to be such a long and painful process, I would not have chosen Stanton Optical. I have asked for a refund several times now. I still do not have glasses that I can see out of or contacts that I can use. I will be contacting the BBB and returning to Stanton Optical this week to try to get a refund yet again. This entire process has taken well over three months and I have nothing to show for it. I do not have a correct prescription for glasses or contacts. I do not have glasses or contacts that I can see out of and I am out about $300 because of this. No one has even apologize to me. At this point, I just want my money back and I want people to know that this location is not worth the pain and suffering you’ll have to go through to try to get a pair of glasses. They do not operate, ethically or with integrity. I hope that this review can help someone in the future.
