Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

First eye exam, ever! Dr.Frie explained the results and patiently answered all my questions. The support staff (Kara) spent a lot of time helping me pick out frames and explaining what my insurance covered. Very nice experience overall. Oh, and I can see again!

The staff was kind and welcoming from my first step into the office. Kathryn explained everything that was happening in the pre-exam room, which I greatly appreciated. Dr. Stephanie was an absolute relief to have after previous experiences with other offices in the area. She took the time to explain what she was doing, why she was doing it, and didn’t rush through any of the tests. She also assured me that my previous concerns about my current prescription were absolutely valid and even explained to me why my eyes felt the way they did. And while I didn’t end up getting an frames, as I am very picky, I was given the option to put new lenses in my current frames. I will definitely be back for all of my future exams and will be recommending Visionary to everyone.

Dr, Frie was professional, thorough, and attentive to the questions and concerns I had. Customer service was top-notch from the moment I walked in the door as a new patient. The appointment process was run efficiently and I felt very welcomed. I left feeling very confident in my prescribed eye treatment moving forward and I would highly recommend Dr. Frie's office. 5/5 stars!

Excellent. I could not ask for a more friendly, top notch service. The team up front are all so very nice and professional, and Dr. Frie is awesome. She spent extra time needed to get me where i needed to be, and was extremely patient with me. I rank this with five stars only because there are not more to give, and i recommend this service completely. I have been a patient here for several years, and this is the reason why. Fantastic service, friendly team, accommodating, professional - thanks john Roberts

My brother recommended Pearle Vision in Altoona, WI, and I'm so glad that I followed his advice. The staff are top notch, from receptionists to doctors to the assistants that help you order your vision products. I feel that the exam is streamlined yet thorough. The contact prescription is spot on and the fit is more comfortable than I ever thought possible. I'm expecting my safety and designer lenses to follow suit. I got all of my questions answered, and nobody gave me an impression that I was annoying them for doing so. Also, nobody pushed me to buy this product or that option. It was like here are our options that are applicable to your needs, here are the features of each, which one would you like? Did I mention friendly and down-to-Earth? Just grade A customer service and professionalism all around. I'll echo my brother's praise to those in my circle.
