Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Recently, I was in need of two pairs of new eyeglasses. Discovered Bracken Opticians thru the Web. Visited their business and informed Mr. Keith that I wish to have two pairs of rimless eyeglasses, one pair for distance, and one pair with bifocal. I am very, very pleased with both pair of custom-made glasses...thanks very much to Mr. Keith.

Outstanding and fast service at a very reasonable price. They replaced the nose guard on my son’s glasses in less than 15 minutes. They also tightened up the lenses and arms as part of the service. I will definitely return.

Just picked up my new glasses at Bracken Opticians after breaking my old glasses. Keith, the owner, fixed my old glasses until my new ones came in free of charge. I was immediately impressed with the customer service and genuine thoughtfulness of my situation. My new glasses are great and I definitely will be a returning customer! I highly recommend Bracken Opticians!

I was able to get a same day appointment for an eye exam and glasses here, which is not a simple task in this area. As soon as I arrived I was cordially welcomed and immediately received a friendly and professional eye exam and then got expert assistance and input to select a great pair of frames. I was in and out in 30 minutes! The price for everything was less than I expected and very reasonable- they waived the exam charge since I bought lenses and frames. The service was warm and friendly, the business showroom and selection are fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. And they provide on site lenses so they do the glasses the same day! Love this place and highly recommend! 10/10

I had an extremely NEGATIVE experience doing business with the My Eye Doctor organisation. Horrible in fact. Read some GREAT reviews & decided to give Bracken Opticians a try. I was very apprehensive and set my expectations very low. First thing you notice walking in the establishment is the cleanliness & brightness. I worked with Mr. Insu (don't know his last name). They fixed my drill hole glasses just great. I'm more than pleased. They are competent, professional, knowledgeable, experienced & very easy to work with. Most of all, the results were excellent. I highly recommend going there for your optical needs.
