Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

My husband had the rudest experience just now at this location. We were told that if my husband didn’t have an emergency or a doctors note that we had to leave. My husband has really bad astagism due to that fact he is now getting constant migraines and blurry vision since he has a really old prescription. My husband can’t drive a lot at times do to the pain and blurry vision. If that isn’t considered an emergency I don’t what else would be. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE RUDE!

Dr Gibson was absolutely amazing! Very thorough in his exam and explained all my questions. He even explained his findings to me and explained why he adjusted my prescription as he did! Wearing glasses for nearly 30 years and I actually understand some things about my eyes! Will recommend him to anyone! Office staff is pretty great as well! The gal who ran the initial tests was thorough and easy to talk to.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good of an experience I had here. I didn’t think I’d have such a good time at a Walmart vision center. The doctor was very nice and listened to all my concerns. The ladies that work there were all very kind as well. I was able to chat with them and they helped me pick out glasses that look cute on me. I’m happy to say I’ll be going back

I called them in desperate need of a last minute eye exam today, figuring I was asking the impossible. But they so kindly fit me in, walked me through everything, and saved me! Both of the women up front were so kind and helpful, and the doctor was very sweet as well. He explained everything and helped me find the right fit. I haven't tried on contacts in years but needed some, and they were so patient as I fumbled to put them in (contacts are my enemy, I swear). The whole experience was wonderful! Trying new eye places can be scary but I totally recommend checking this place out!

The staff at eyeglass world on Riverdale road is amazing. Lynn, the manager has worked with me and my family through some challenges and helped us figure out the best eyewear for our lifestyle and comfort. We came back several times for adjustments and returns and she was so kind and helpful and knowledgeable. Every time I call or come in she immediately knows who I am by name and makes me feel welcome and comfortable. Her staff has always been super friendly and funny, it’s clear they like their jobs and who they work with. 100 recommend to anyone who asks!
