Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

This was my first time visit. Friendly staff prompt service on all eye test, thorough Blood pressure test, the staff checked out my eyeglasses i suppose to just be aware of where exactly the type of prescription i'm wearing. Dr. Malone was very professional in explaining my vision test results no need for new eyeglasses yay, see you all in a year. Thanks Highly recommended.
Crystal Maness | Rating: 1 | Caplan Eye Center
This was my first year using Caplan Eye Care & at first the visit was great, I had high expectations for this facility. The doctor recommended hard lens contacts, so I went with that since I am always tearing the soft lenses. My vision was perfect with them on but my right eye hurt so bad. The left eye felt uncomfortable as that was expected, but not painful. So I went back to see the doctor & he suggested I try them for 2 weeks because the fit looked right. I did just that, I called several times after to get a visit again because something felt off. I paid $600 for one pair of contacts & they took 2 days to respond to me anytime I would call about this issue. At that point I knew that they didn’t want to deal with me. They could have seen me again, because there’s no reason for me to be in pain. I can wear my left contact all day with no issues, there is something off on my right contact, but they do not care to fix the problem. I finally just asked for my records & I will never come back. The staff & doctor could have done more to help. I understand contacts can be off or mistakes happen that is not on the facility, but they could have fixed the problem & cared more about their patients. I really did expect more from this place. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I would hate for someone else to have a bad experience here or pay that much money & not be able to enjoy their contacts. They need to do better for their patients. I am very disappointed because these contacts would be a life changer for me. Adding to this: First of all, I can accept when there is nothing that they can do if that was the case. If they cared this office would have made me aware of applying that $600 to a year supply of soft lens. That is news to me. It’s not about the money to be honest, I do not care nor do I need to be refunded. They could have done more or maybe seen me in person to tell me there’s nothing else they can do. They just kept telling me to wait. Instead I was just brushed off as a crazy patient. When I was never rude to them about this issue. This is not a false review, everything that I wrote happened. My left eye was spot on & I had no issues, therefore my eyes CAN handle the contacts. There is something wrong with my right contact. The customer service was terrible after I addressed my issue. I have an appointment with another doctor to get this figured out, when I do I will finish off this review, I have no problem apologizing if I am in the wrong. I will do so, if my second opinion says the same thing.

They deserve more than 5 stars! Dr. Blankenship and his team at Caplan Eye Center were very friendly from the time I walked in to the time I left. I only waited 15 minutes past appointment time to be seen, which was disclosed in the form that you receive at check-in. I will definitely continue to come back! :)

We've been doing business with Vision Values for probably 20 years, they are the most knowledgeable and helpful folks around. Great eyeglasses at very competitive prices. But SERVICE is NUMBER ONE! You won't regret using them for your optical needs.

I love my eye Dr. She makes everything easy for me to understand. She isn’t just about vision- she is about overall eye health. They always make sure to be thorough for other conditions that can be seen inside the eye itself.
