Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I went into the Rosenberg office today for the first at this location. My experience there was amazing from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out. Every one was great and I do mean everyone the receptionist greeted me and it went from there the eye tech was patient as I spoke on my decision of contacts to glasses and it wasn't even what she asked me lol

Awesome staff! You get greeted as soon as you walk in. The ladies here are so nice. Cindy was very helpful. She walked me through the process. She explained prices and managed to get me good deal on glasses and contacts. Great place to take the family for an eye check up.

Terrible customer service. Poor communication. They have no procedures in place for customers that do not have their orders fulfilled on time. Be prepared to always be placed on hold and not be updated while you’re on hold. Was told that my contacts/glasses were ordered and I had to wait two weeks. Checked on my order two weeks after it being placed and it still was not there. I was told because of my prescription it could be a little longer. After the third week I was told that my order was never placed. The staff at this location Doesn’t understand what taking ownership for their mistakes means. The doctor at this location is amazing. I would recommend her to my family and my friends. The workers in the front area helping you with glasses and apparently ordering need more professional development. My recommendation is using the doctor here for your prescription for glasses or contacts, but ordering the glasses and contacts you need elsewhere. This will give you the least amount of interaction with those who are not professional.

Very friendly staff. Exam was thorough. Everything was well explained. Veronica was so helpful and walked me through the process of picking out new glasses, plus explaining the insurance. Appointment took a little longer than I wanted; however, since I am a new patient, that's to be expected. Satisfied overall!

Over a year ago I purchased two full pairs at this location. Both pairs have ended up broken thanks to a very rambunctious toddler, the second pair broken AFTER the warranty expired, of course. I took the frames in to see if they could repair them for me as I must have glasses to be able to drive and the other pair were beyond saving, unfortunately, they told me they were unable to repair the second pair as well due to the severity of the damage. I was about to leave with my unrepaired glasses without replacing them due to finances in the moment when they completely shocked me by offering me a free exam as well as a full pair of glasses (frames and lenses) for FREE. Dr. Ly and Juliana were both AMAZING. 5 out of 5 - would definitely recommend!
