Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.
What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?
What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.
What does an optometrist do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Kevin Crocker | Rating: 5 | Optometrist - Pearle Vision
This place is great! My daughter and I came in because she was starting to have trouble seeing fat off. She was a little nervous but after talking to the receptionist and Dr. Griffin her nerves were calmed. While Dr. Griffin is young she is excellent and very knowledgeable in her field and answered every question we had. At 41 I have been to lots of eye clinics but now I’m sold on C Sharp and my family and I will continue to use them for all our needs.
Janet Brooks | Rating: 1 | Lewis Frazee, MD (North Texas Eye Center)
I was very disappointment in the service I received from this office. It was not Dr. Frazee, but some of his staff, in particular the ignorant person Chris, who manages the finances. I was not the only one that left this office irritated and steaming. I called and asked how much a glaucoma test would cost along with the eye exam. They told me and my daughter and I went to our appointments. We had our eyes examine, but they gave the glaucoma test to my daughter instead of me, and told me I would need to pay $250 more for a glaucoma test, so I would have paid $550 for two eye exams and an extra glaucoma test that they got wrong. Chris tried to tell me my daughter did not have a glaucoma test, when the office technician told me she did. Needless to say, they lost a customer. When you make a mistake, ensure your customer is satisfied with the end result. I would never trust them again!
Tictactoe Kristi | Rating: 5 | Switalski Eye Care
The Office staff were kind & knowledgeable. Facility was clean with state of the art equipment! Dr. Switalski came highly recommended & was knowledgeable of my eye health and needs. He educated me more than any other eye doctor has ever done before and I appreciated the extra attention to detail. That showed me that he truly cared about my eye health. I highly recommend him.
Patrice Walter | Rating: 5 | Target Optical
J is an absolute gem of a person! My glasses were driving me crazy and needed an adjustment badly. They were able to fix the issue quickly! Their personality is wonderful and honestly J is a breath of fresh air. They made my day today, just by being themselves. Thank you J!
Katie Albrecht | Rating: 5 | EyeClinic Medical
I recently moved to Lewisville and was looking to get glasses after having LASIK done 5 yrs ago. To be completely honest I picked EyeClinic because it was very close to me and had the highest rating (4.8 at the time). Now I understand why! Every visit to the EyeClinic has been an absolutely wonderful experience! Dr. Hashemi is so personable and friendly, and Yolanda was so helpful with picking out glasses. We had a lot of fun trying them on! I always leave with a smile on my face! I truly can't say enough good things about this clinic and the staff. If you're looking for a new eye clinic, you won't regret choosing EyeClinic Medical!
