Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

LGBT friendly, yeah it's a bit pricey but if you have been putting off eye care because of being afraid of how you will be treated, no worries here. The staff is sweet and understanding and very helpful picking new frames and making you feel comfortable. They were amazing helping me pick frames that look good and cute on me.

Very great experience! Ms. Lisa sat down and helped coach me put contacts in for over 2 hours and was very kind and patient with me the entire time. Unfortunately, I decided to not go with the contacts (didnt quite have the time to be wrestling with them every morning lol.) But Ms. Dee was also very helpful and saved me money when my insurance decided to be a nuisance and basically cover nothing, she helped me out by giving me one of the store deals and giving me a good price. All in all I had a great experience and will definitely be going back in the future.

Praise God for Dr. Leiske! She diagnosed my 12 year old sons vision problem that had been overlooked by everyother eye Dr! He had basically gone blind in one eye, due to not being correctly treated. I was devastated, But through her careful treatment and therapy He has regained his vision! She is so great at explaining everything,I've never, in 40+yrs of wearing glasses myself ever had things explained as thoroughly I am extremely pleased with the service. We pay out of pocket and the prices are reasonable. The Bad reviews on here are all about insurance $. Petty IMHO. This is a TRUE Family Eye care center. I will be forever grateful for the proper diagnosis of my son's vision problem. They took so much time and patience helping me pick my frames and teaching my son to wear contacts. Love the Staff!

Came here on a Saturday for glasses and contacts prescriptions. The weekend staff were amazing- no issues there, no wait, got me right in, super friendly. Now, every time I call during the week(which has been 2x, the first was to correct my contact brand, the second was to ask about a trial pair they ordered me), I’m greeted by people who speak in short sentences and do not let me explain the reason for my call, they cut me off and place me on hold. The first call, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. When I hung up and called back, I got the same person as before who rudely told me all contact lens are the same. When I called the second time to follow up on the trial pair, I was passed from person to person until the last person was also pretty rude and told me that it’s only been 2 weeks since I was seen there and it takes 4-6 for the trials to come in. I’d rather not go back to this location at all.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The eye exam was very thorough. I have never had such great service at an eye care center. I would recommend this business for anyone who needs an eye exam and new glasses.
