Contact lenses are small lenses that are in "contact" with your eyes. They are designed to correct refractive errors and keep your eyes healthy. The lenses are in the tear film on the cornea. Modern contact lenses are small lenses worn over the cornea of the eye. Modern contact lenses whether soft or hard. Most people wear soft contact lenses, but it wasn't that long ago that lenses were made of glass. Colored contact lenses can make your eyes more intense or completely change the color of your eyes, and costume contact lenses can help create special effects seen on the big screen.

What is the difference between glasses and contact lenses?

Unlike glasses, contact lenses do not limit the field of vision. With glasses, the field of vision is limited, causing people to have to turn their head to see something from the side.

Can I sleep in contact lenses?

Modern soft contact lenses allow enough oxygen to the eye, but when you sleep, your eyes are closed and, therefore, the access of oxygen to them is reduced.

What are the harms of contact lenses?

Prolonged contact lens wear causes the cornea to thin (keratocytes lose their ability to synthesize new tissue). This can happen even with proper lens wear 3-5 years after use. In the case of reaction to hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the main complication is the formation of new blood vessels.

I have been a patient at this location for at least 15 years. The staff are friendly, professional, and very helpful and the office is always clean. Dr. Huber is thorough, professional, and has a kind personality, taking the time needed to address any and all concerns or to explain options. I highly recommend this location.

We've been patients of Dr. Weikum's since we had to start wearing glasses. They're always courteous and friendly. Dr. Weikum always takes time to explain everything and always does a thorough exam. The staff is always helpful when picking out glasses and always helps us pick the perfect frames. We trust Dr. Weikum and his staff with our eyes and won't go anywhere else.

If you are new to area or just looking for an ophthalmologist who really cares about you and not passing you along like a milk factory for cows, then this the man to see. I am a few months behind writing this review, but now I am doing better. I went in with whiteouts, floaters, and flashes thinking this will become my new life and being blind permanently instead of for hours would be my norm. This was not a normal we measure your pupil, read the smallest line, and which is better 1 or 2 visit. He was informative, detailed about my eyes, and how my whiteouts are an underlying issue and gave me a referral ASAP. The referral appointment was lined up quickly and things escalated quickly and my underlying issue was taken care of and my vision is better. I am not sure how long he will be in business, but it is rare to find any doctor who cares about their patients enough to say anything to their patient about an issue they find and/or to look into your concerns. Most doctors brush off your concerns as though you are making them up, because at the time of visit your are not experiencing those symptoms. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Saved my vision.
