Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Met with all the staff for my new appointment. Very personable and service oriented. Dr. Dyer listened to my history and responded to all my concerns. I was very pleased in all aspects with the care and timeliness of their services.

As so many previous posts have stated, there is as extreme level if incompetence after the actual optometrist. Appoints run 30min to an hour late, they shut down for 2 weeks for a broken A/C and never once contacted customers that were waiting on ordered (paid in full, in advance) items to let them know. I spent literally 4 hours a day for 3 days trying to reach ANYONE that could help me and was continuously told UPS had my items pending the store opening again. I was told on numerous occasions of the one supervisor named "Chris", who was the only supervisor capable of helping me in anyway, who over the period of several days no one was ever able to find or put me in contact with and never gave me a call of any kind back, even having left my number for him on multiple occasions requesting a call back. No one ever thought to reroute the packages, pick up the packages or do anything else that may help the customers. Simply shut down shop and left everyone to wonder and hope. This is not a ma and pop owned small business but they act as if they've never done this before. My experience was so bad that I believe this is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a review for a business online. I would not recommend them to anyone. Their final solution was to refund me my money and leave me now out glasses I waited three weeks for, now waiting for a refund to be able to go to another place and order a pair of glasses again and start the process all over. Extremely disappointing experience.

I will no longer be coming here. Oct. 22 was my first time at this location, I ordered my glasses the same day and here it is November 17 and I still have not heard anything about my glasses. I have called and still nothing. This is ridiculous. If I would’ve known I had to order them and wait for them, I would've went else where .

0 stars for unfriendly staff. I have called more than 2 times, they write down my information to call me back and NEVER do. I call again and the doctor is never available, and they hang up on me while I'm talking. I thought they had better professionalism, even if it's Walmart.

Brittany assisted me with my glasses purchase. She was professional gracious and caring. 1st time coming to Walmart for glasses; experience was great. I would definitely come again. Thanks you.
