Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable with her expertise and the prescription she recommended. The rest of the staff was also very helpful and accommodating. I happened to have a fairly unique request when I needed to purchase new lenses and this was the only place in Denton that would help me process my request. I would highly recommend EyeCare of Denton to anyone!

We had the best experience at this location. Joshua helped my son with his issue and even saved him $88 dollars. Joshua's customer service skills were top notch. Definitely recommend this location.

My eye doctor listened to my needs and explained some things that I need to be aware of. The scheduling was quick and I didn't have to wait for a long time to see the doctor. Highly recommend.

Adriana Sarellana  |  Rating: 5  |  Target Optical

Loved the customer service Bryce was amazing and so helpful and shared his knowledge about different brands of glasses that he thought would be better for my son based on his prescription. Told us how long the wait would be to receive glasses and packed up all our receipts in an envelope for us. We will be coming back here again and hope we get Bryce to help again.

Gulzeb Niazi  |  Rating: 3  |  Visionworks Denton Town Center

My workplace has a contract with them for prescription safety glasses, which is why I came here. When I came to initially look at the options and order, the person assisting me was not very helpful. She just laid out frame options on table and walked away, not really there to ask questions. When I asked her questions later, she didn't really know the answers, and didn't seem to care much that she was only giving me partial information. I know prescription safety glasses must not be high volume sellers, but there clearly needs to be more training for options available for particular safety glasses frames. When I came in for pickup, I was waiting for associates, along with a couple of other people. Another associate came in, probably back from lunch, and she seemed to be looking for masks for over 10 minutes before finally finding them and then assisting people who were waiting. That's just poor customer service due to lack of organization. I wouldn't have put this on the review, but it just goes to the general sense I got about customer service not being prioritized enough. After pickup, I had some issues with adjusting to the safety glasses, because of curvature by design being higher than I am used to with regular glasses, and Lucrecia was wonderful in helping me with that. She was sympathetic about the issues I was having and she fixed them by heating the frame at the bridge and flexing it open a little bit. I would rate 2/5 for order visit and pickup visit, and 5/5 for adjustment visit.
