Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

We have been patients for 4 years. The kids love this place. They have been providing us with great service and knowledge of our current eye medical conditions. The doctor is highly educated and will provide you with accurate information and without bias. The staff are friendly and they have always worked with us to explain how to use our insurance benefits and get the best for eye comfort. I just wish the offer weekend hours.

Hands down, this is the place you need to go to if you need a new pair of glasses or sunglasses. I’ve been going to this store for past 3 years now, and I’ve purchased my 6th one already. The owner is quite funny, and he does such a great job on finding glasses and adjusting them to your face very well. I also get my eyes checked up by the optometrist there, and she’s the sweetest. It’s very convenient to get yours eyes checked and prescribed, and you can get your glasses right there. Compared to other glasses place, you can get your glasses within few days, and even the next day too if you are in rush! I don’t live in Dallas anymore, so I go back every time I visit to adjust my glasses or fix the nose piece and such. I don’t write too many reviews but I wrote this review because I really appreciate the owner a lot for providing with great services! Thank you:) I’ll come back again when I visit Dallas!

What a great office and friendly helpful staff. Dr. Bui is fantastic and REAL. Does not encourage anything unnecessary. I also chose to buy my glasses at his office. I could tell instantly why they are better than a less expensive box store.

The staff was extremely courteous and patient with me! They answered all my questions, made me feel welcomed, and not rushed. We tried one prescription of contacts, but decided they may have been too powerful, so the doctor had me try a lesser one. Rather than send me out with the stronger pair he took the time to ensure my prescription would be a good fit. The guest service up front, again, were fantastic! I’m a college student and they understood and took that into consideration when setting me up. I will be back forever and always!

Incredible and knowledgeable staff! I came in a while back and purchased two pairs of glasses and had a wonderful experience. The vision center was incredibly clean, organized, and each pair I tried on before selecting the ones that I purchased were carefully sanatized after I was done with them. The woman that helped me; I believe her name was Lisa, was very thorough with my measurements and helping me select exactly what I needed for work and leisure. I had come in for one pair, but ended up leaving with a second pair after she showed me the transition lenses. The vision center was really busy, but I felt like I was the only customer in there with her. She really made me feel that she cared about my satisfaction and I truly feel that my needs were met. I will be back for future pairs just to work with her again. Incredible service!
