It is impossible to give universal advice on choosing the perfect frames and lenses. But there is one golden rule: when choosing frames you should consider not only their appearance but also discuss the following questions with a specialist (optometrist): Where and how, mostly, are you going to use your glasses? What are your habits? Do you plan to wear your glasses while playing sports, for example? Eyeglass lenses have different optical powers, which are expressed in dioptres. The optical power is determined by fitting glasses. Size of the frame - the larger the frame the more aberration (distortion) may be at the edges of the lens.

What frame fits on the lens?

Metal and plastic frames are equally suitable. In particular, active activities such as riding a motorcycle, running or playing ball require curved frames to protect the eyes from wind, insects, debris, etc.

How do you know if eyeglass lenses aren't right?

You can tell if lenses are not suitable by certain signs. It is important to understand that there is an adjustment period for any optics. Symptoms of improperly fitting glasses are as follows: headache; dizziness; a feeling of sand, increased tearfulness of the eyes; high fatigue of the organs of vision.

Why do my eyes hurt when wearing new glasses?

Eye muscles learn to compensate for changing visual demands. Because these muscles and focusing systems suddenly have to work differently, you may develop headaches, dizziness, or just a feeling that something is wrong with your eyes. (This also applies to contact lenses).

Which glass or plastic eyeglass lenses are better?

Glass makes it difficult to make a progressive or aspherical lens. Also, glass lenses do not fit rimless frames. Plastic lenses are twice as light as glass lenses, so glasses with them are more comfortable to wear for a long time, and plastic lenses are much less traumatic than glass lenses. Firstly, plastic itself is more resistant to breakage, and secondly, its splinters are not as sharp and dangerous.

Which lenses for glasses are more expensive?

The thinner and stronger the lenses, the more expensive they are. Lenses made of photochromic, polarizing or sunglasses are more expensive than colorless (clear) lenses. Lenses can be stock or prescription lenses. Stock lenses are cheaper - they are ready-made, in stock, and can be quickly fitted to eyeglasses.

I didn’t want to leave a star at all…The worst experience… It’s not America’s Best… It’s America’s MESS… I would NEVER refer anyone to them. Nobody couldn’t tell me where my glasses where.. It went from we don’t have you in the system, the last time was there was in 2019… Which was a lie.. I was there July 11,2022.. Then they had the wrong number on my account every time I called it was a different Lie. They say they would call you back which they didn’t. Tammara from corporate lied, Cynthia lied, Alaina lied. They say the called never did..They said they got lost when they sent out, too oh no order was put in, had someone else number on my file, Paper chart says one address In the computer it’s a different address. bottom line they just horrible I will never come back If you’re looking for good glasses with better selections and price go to the Eye lab, they’re more professional then these incompetent workers at America’s Mess in Arlington Tx, Lincoln Square. They need training all over again, because nothing is clicking with them.. Now I’m waiting 1 month for some glasses that was to been there 2 weeks… They drop the ball and don’t want to admit it…I asked can they expedite them she said no… Not one person apologized for their mistakes they try to reverse it on the customer… The manager there didn’t apologized… All them need to be retrained again and customer service classes because they lack the knowledge of how things are suppose to ran in a business. All they care about is making money. Never again

This is in retaliation of a review left my Mr Matthew Bashover owner of Accent Eye care franchise. Very rude individual that does not give a single chance to the people that he has made inquiries about. Very entitled individual. Very disappointing and unprofessional confirming all the reviews.

My wife and I have had fantastic experiences with Dr. Hanley and the staff here. He really cares about your health on top of being very friendly. The exams are very thorough and buying glasses and contacts has been very easy. I'd recommend him to anyone.
