Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I first came a few years ago and had a fine experience. I tried the eye doctor next door since they were higher priced and less appointments thinking maybe a more "eye doctor" experience. I had such a bad experience next door and left with contacts that hurt and not trusting exam. I came to Americas best the next day to pay again for another exam and to get my contacts I preferred. From my first call explaining my ordeal Jennifer was so nice and answered my initial questions about how they could help me. Dr Lewis and the eye tech were very understanding and did my exam. She actually thought the eye doc next door over corrected my eye. She ordered that trial just to test. She ended up being correct and my vision actually had not changed at all. Everyone from the floor staff to the phone calls were kind and professional. The thing with these places are they book alot of appointments. Coming in knowing it might be a small wait should be expected. They juggle alot but remain kind.

9/2/2022 - I understand I called five minutes before close. Doesn’t explain why they hung up on me then left me on hold when I called back. Then had an attitude and said yea we don’t see your order… they didn’t ask me any information. Then said yea we have caller ID… I didn’t even call from my phone. Their caller ID must have telepathic abilities… no reason to be rude. Really crazy. You could tell they were running to get out the building the poor girl was out of breathe telling me this…

I called to ask about insurance coverage and office worker promptly up the phone. Initially, an office representative answers the call - “Thank you for calling Visionworks, how may I help you?” Depending upon the question decides if you continue a conversation with that rep or receive a dial tone. Do you want to become a customer of Visionworks or go elsewhere? I suggest you find another eyeglass company, based upon previous reviews and my initial experience. I attempted to call back and after about eight rings, sent to their national 800 line? Visionworks has lost my business before it even started. This makes no sense at all.

Extremely poor customer service. Courtney is very rude and told me she wouldn’t order my contacts after I had already paid someone else in the store almost $300 for them. She told me that I owed them $90 instead of the $85 that I was told to pay for the exam. She stated she would not order my contacts until I paid them the extra $5 dollars. I had already paid for my contacts! She was attempting to steal hundreds of dollars if I didn’t pay her $5 extra for the exam. Ridiculous and illegal! Would give zero stars if I could!
