Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Stacie Betterman  |  Rating: 5  |  Dr. Corey Persons & Associates

I have been seeing Dr. Persons for a few years now and have not been disappointed. I was really impressed yesterday. I arrived about a half hour early for my appointment. I checked in and settled down with my book and didn’t even turn the page before they called me back. I was pretty much done just after my original appointment time! Fast friendly service!

The receptionists are extremely kind and informative, free WiFi, rooms are very clean and the atmosphere is delightful. Their Belgian waffles are absolutely delicious too! I am most definitely recommending you stay here!

Ashley Eileen  |  Rating: 1  |  Dr Brandi L Long & Associates

I have never been treated so rudely. The receptionist had an attitude with me from the start. She flat out refused to file my claim, said I would have to pay out of pocket and file the claim myself even though my insurance pulled up as active. When I tried to clarify the situation, because never in my life have I been told by a front desk associate to handle the billing process myself, she became unnecessarily aggressive with me. I asked if I could have a print out of the insurance info she was pulling up and she said no but if I wanted to see it to come behind the desk and look for myself. This is a huge violation of patient privacy as I could see several other patients charts and information and she asked me to stand where only staff should be allowed. I'm going to be filing a complaint with the TN health board. I dont trust my private information with someone so unprofessional. She was an extremely unhelpful, rude, unpleasant person. I almost cried. What are you supposed to do when the person up front wont help you or answer your questions at all?

Richard Brooks  |  Rating: 5  |  Dr. Corey Persons & Associates

We arrived 2-3 minutes late for our appointment (I called and told them the Dr appointment scheduled ahead of their appointment kept us longer than I had planned) but they assured me that was no problem. We were taken back as soon S we arrived and received prompt and thorough eye exams for me and my husbands. We have been seeing Dr. Persons for many years and followed him to this new practice. He is very knowledgeable and. concerned about his patients. Neither I nor my husband needed new glasses this year.

Russell White  |  Rating: 5  |  Lifetime Eyecare Family Vision Center

Had the best experience at lifetime Eyecare! Dr Holland was so thorough with her explanations, she was fun and professional! Her staff Shelby, Jessica, Lindsey and Danielle(sorry if I left anyone out) were absolutely delightful! You won’t and can’t go wrong going to this office!
