Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I had an emergency with my daughter’s eye and the urgent care recommended this clinic. They were wonderful and got us in immediately even though we were not established with them. The office staff helped us expedite getting her in the system and we were seen within 15 minutes of walking in the door. Dr. Desai was thorough and kind and I could tell he took the situation very serious. I really appreciate their help, especially since we just moved to the area and I wasn’t sure what to do in this situation. We will be seeing this office for our regular eye exams and eye care needs!

I am new to the Knoxville area. After reading several Google reviews for different optometrists, I decided to make an appointment at Farragut Eye Clinic; and I was not disappointed. The staff was courteous/friendly; I was able to complete the check-in process very quickly. I did two standard eye tests with the optometric assistant and then saw Dr. M. Desai. He was very kind and explained every part of the eye exam process. When I told him about an issue I was having, he ordered another (non-standard) test and subsequently explained the results - thoroughly. He even discovered that my prescription (from my previous doctor) was in fact too strong. I would recommend the doctors and staff at Farragut Eye Clinic to any newcomer to the area.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. After 3 weeks of waiting ,I go to pick up my glasses. They were wrong, lady blames her co worker for giving me wrong information, woman then tells me to pick a different pair of frames for “ computer “ glasses. I explained I’m a health care worker and write as I’m looking at the computer, and the RX is wrong, she explained that my new frames were not appropriate for the RX. So I requested my money back. They aren’t authorized to give refunds, the manager will be there tomorrow, you will need to come back then. I explained I drove an hour one way, and I will call and speak to them first thing the next morning. I’ve called 6 times in 3 hours and I only get customer service dude who is Foreign and I can’t understand anyway, not only Because of his accent but because I am hearing impaired and don’t hear well over the phone. I can’t reach ANYONE at the store, they won’t answer the phone. I have filed a complaint and requested a refund. We will contact our credit card company and report them. We have not received our purchase as requested, and do not wish to do to any further business with them. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. It ain’t worth the aggravation.
