Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

My father had a appt here. They wouldnt accept his insurance even though it says they do on the website. Instead on calling him to the counter and telling him. The yell they dont accept it to the whole lobby and made him feel demeaned. He said they was rude as well. He had such a bad experience he about abandoned getting his glasses all together. Luckily he called destination eye care. And they were as nice as possible. The opposite of America's best.

Our family has been going to America’s Best for years. We have always been treated like family there. The doctors are thorough and explain any changes in our eyes so that we understand, and are never rushed. There’s a huge selection of frames to choose from, which we love! Nathan Vance is always helpful and greets you with a smile every time! Perfect choice for eye exams and glasses!

Autumn was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable in her job and made this a very smooth process. We talked as if we had been friends for years, which helped with the anxiety that comes with getting your eyes checked. She was very patient with me putting in contacts for the first time in my life. I will definitely continue to come to America's Best for all my eye care needs.

I made a third trip to the Pinnacle to get lenses corrected that were made incorrectly. I live in Lebanon Va and went to Bristol TN. My current pair came from here 2 years ago and I have been pleased. I did need Transition lenses with AR coating and polycarbonate lenses that were progressive. My first pair were a nightmare. Couldn't read anything. Returned and told they were single vision. 2nd pair were actually bifocals and definitely weren't Transition lenses and nothing but fuzzy vision. This morning I met Gabrielle. She actually sorted out all the errors made and I feel confident that my new glasses will be exactly what I wanted. Others just tried to BS me when I couldn't see clearly or said that I didn't know how Transitions worked. She listened to me and worked to resolve my issues. I spent 12 years at a call center, taking over 120,000 calls across the US. I won awards. I dealt with more bad calls than good. Gabrielle did what I wanted, timely and professional, just as I did. Thank you for caring about my issues!
