The eye doctor was okay. She didn't involve me, (as the guardian/ parent), with my kid's exam. She didn't explain the results to me, she didn't ask me questions about my kid's health nor did she give me the option to ask her questions. She didn't take the time to engage with me and go over what she did in the exam room. However, she was mild-mannered and seemed to be nice. The staff were super friendly and inviting. The two ladies took time to talk to me and my kid; offered us bottled water. They recommended some frames for him to try on and gave their opinion. She thoroughly explained the results/ diagnosis of my kid's (teenager) exam and offered us a choice. She went over how his insurance works. She was even personable as she told me a story about her teenage daughter. Bottom line, the doctor was nice. However, in my experience, she needs to take the time to engage more with her young patients' parent/ guardian. The staff, they were great. Both ladies made time for open dialogue, they were helpful, funny and friendly.
12 out of 10! Kylie indeed went above and beyond and helped me so much! I had a shackle broken and she explained me all possible options for repair. It is my only pair of glasses and she understood that needed them until I find a better solution and she invested her time and fixed it by herself. Thank you so much again!
I've had great experiences here, but my last one will leave me looking for a new place to get my exams and glasses. I don't know how many phone calls, visits, emails have been sent back and forth at this point, but many months ago(winter of 2020, spring 2021ish), I had my eye exam, got new lenses put into my old frames. However, before I had the new lenses put in, the arm came off my frames and I had them sent in for repair. The company, Gold & Wood, would not fix them because they had to repair the finish prior to this, so the manager of the store took it upon himself to take another pair of similar glasses by the company that did not match, and replaced the arm that way, which I said I would take a look at when I got there to see if I approved. I went to pick up my frames only to see that the wood is not even a close match (my frames are darker brown wood, the arms are a lighter grey-ish wood), so I asked for the original arms back and that I would fix it myself, but they told me they threw them away. I was told this was not common practice, and a total accident, so I gave them almost a year to remedy the issue. They were not able to find arms to match my glasses so I'm left with a pair of expensive Frankensteined frames. I had asked if they could order a different pair of frames in for me, as I was going to use mine as backups, but I never heard a thing. After I had my new lenses put in, I noticed that the progressives were kind of useless as I have to turn my head to the right and then look down to see clearly. I was once again, (for about the 6th time) asked to come in to see what they could do. I don't exactly have the time to drop everything every time they need to fix one of their mistakes, so I haven't been back. I hesitated to write a review, but after not hearing back from their customer service after sending another email a couple of months ago, I decided to go through with it. It's a shame because I really like the optometrist, and the majority of the staff that works there are absolutely amazing, but the manager kind of makes you feel like a pain when you come back with issues. I have since bought frames from Warby Parker as place holders until they get this sorted....if ever.
