Place is great! My only experience at an eye doc was a inexpensive 2 free pairs with eye exam type of store before this. Ended up being almost the same cost with my insurance only a totally different experience. The staff cares about your eyesight, not meeting quick quotas. They pay close attention to detail during the exam and the fitting. I never felt rushed, they have great hours and I got my glasses in a few days. Highly recommend!
I tore the cornea in one of my eyes on a Thursday evening - a pretty terrible experience... I was so pleased to learn that my eye doctor (Dr. Polimadei) was still open and in the office on Thursdays until 7PM; I got there right before closing and she was able to provide immediate relief and talk me through what I needed to do for the next week or so in order for the tear to heal. I got a contact lens to cover the tear to prevent irritation. That felt so good... at first... but then around 4AM I felt as though the contact lens "came out" - all the pain was back. I waited until later that morning to call Dr. Polimadei and even though she is not generally in the office on Fridays, she came in - turns out the contact lens was still in there, but the LASIK I had "flattened" my eyeball curvature and having the contact in for a longer period meant that it was sort of applying pressure because the fit is not great post-LASIK... she took it out, the pain was back, and she told me to get this type of gel/ointment and while it will blur my vision, it will prevent my eyelid from irritating the cornea... that helped a lot (not as good as the contact at first) and after just a few days I felt entirely better. Dr. Polimadei is so kind and professional - I am so thankful for her!
The person at the front desk was very friendly and so was the doctor who performed the eye exam. My only problem was that when I got my prescription, my PD values were not included. When I called to inquire about it, I was told that they only provided PD values when you buy glasses. I really would have expected that to be part of the eye exam as I paid for the service. On the plus side, I will get to learn how to get PD values by using a mirror and a ruler.
