Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Normally I’m a customer of the office near park city in Lancaster but I happen to be over this way by this office so I stopped in quick just to get my glasses tightened. The woman helping me was very nice but there was another woman working who was sitting with a customer at the time I walked in who was extremely RUDE, When asked if I normally stop in this office I answered no and that I was simply there to get my glasses tightened, This woman got up walked away from her customer came over to the front desk and proceeded to tell the woman who was helping me not to touch my glasses and to give them right back to me. I instantly frowned my face because I didn’t understand why she would say that. She then told the woman not to tighten them for me because Iam not a loyal customer there and that if they break it will be a huge issue. I had to bite my tongue I didn’t expect for any issues, Who would have thought it’s an issue just to get your glasses tightened? I wish I could have caught her name because I would have wrote it in BOLD letters here for everyone to see.

This place deserves zero stars. I came in today to purchase glasses and was looking forward to getting two new pairs. Unfortunately, I was surrounded by a group of elementary school-aged boys shooting rubber bands—WITH AND ENCOURAGED BY THE STORE EMPLOYEES in the retail area. In addition, the children were screaming and I couldn’t leave a voicemail for my optometrist requesting my Rx be faxed to this location. I should have known this was a horrible idea when I was given paperwork to fill out for glasses and was told by a woman at the front desk to “try not to get hit by a rubber band!” HILARIOUS. Do better. When I voiced my displeasure upon leaving, the woman at the front desk said, “I understand.” No apology at all. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing glasses from this location. The person I spoke with at national customer service immediately after leaving the store and voicing my complaints was, however, very helpful. Good luck!

This is a busy retail office, but it’s worth the wait. Plan to wait 5-10 minutes, shopping for glasses (great selection especially for kids), but they work hard and get you in and out. The glasses arrive quick and they provide exceptional service if anything goes wrong. My son is tough on glasses and they are always happy to fix them up!

Bad experience, if I could give them less than one start for sure I will, First, I went there February 12 to do a contact lenses exam, the doctor told me that the trial will be in the office in a week that immediately it arrive they will call to make an appointment and teach me how I need to do it, it has been 2 weeks and a half and I never received a call back, to let me know what was going on, I decided to go there to see what happen and at that moment they told me that the trial of my contact lenses were lost that they will reordered again, so that means that if I never go there to see what happen they never reordered it again. I’m now still waiting. Really bad customer services. Not proactive.

I went for a contact prescription appointment. Then I found out she required a waiting period to receive my prescription. I had to wear my trial pair of contacts for one week and return for another appointment to "check" the contacts. I arrived for my 1120 "contact check" and two people were taken ahead of me for glasses prescription appointments. I wasn't seen until nearly 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I asked the desk why i was even required to go back and get checked. All I wanted was my prescription. I have worn contacts for 20 years and I have NEVER EVER been made to wait for the prescription like this. I will not return to this business.
