Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I liked the eye doctor who was at this location. They have a good variety of glasses styles for you to pick from. The options were pretty cost effective. The only issue I have is the wait to get my glasses. I ordered my glasses almost three weeks ago. They told me when I ordered them that I would get them in 1-2 weeks. I was not told that the frames were on back order the day I did order them. I have called asking for updates and all they have said for over a week is that it hasn't been shipped yet, but it will be soon. I do not mean to sound rude or impatient but I need these glasses in order to see properly. This feels like too long of a wait.

Do not go here. I had an appointment and had to wait over an hour just for them to puff air at my eyes then wait even more for a telehealth doc to do an exam. Then when I went to pick up my glasses I couldn't see right. So I did another test. Went back to pick them up and still wrong but went home to test them out for a day. Still wrong and I'm going to a different location to fix them.

The rudest, least helpful staff imaginable! I was turned away for being a few minutes late while the optometrist who turned me away was watching a video on her phone when she did. Just go anywhere else lol

I went here for new contacts. all but one of my five visits were with Dr Bodimer. Although she seems very nice, shes’s very timid, preoccupied and unsure of herself. Neither Tracie (front manager) nor Bodamer told me to wear my glasses for a few days instead of my contacts to get an accurate read. It was the older Dr that told me I should have been wearing my glasses on my THIRD visit. Why didn’t anyone tell me that? So when I went to schedule again, I called and talked to a young man who couldn’t understand why I would want to wear my glasses for a contact exam even when I said the Dr told me to Tracie called me back instead and said not to wear my glasses but my contacts. So I called and asked Bodimer to call me. She called and said to wear my glasses. Are u kidding me? I didn’t say anything I had tons of patience with this office. They are just unprofessional, Unknowledgeable and no sense of customer service. At one point Bodimer says my eyes were not warped then 5 min later she said they were. She said let’s do this, then changes and says no let’s do this. Is she just out of school? I hope so. Otherwise she needs another profession. One time I had to cancel because my relative was in a traffic accident. Bodimer seemed irritated that I had canceled and at next appt she asked me why I canceled. I said my relative was killed in a traffic accident and what does she say? Oh “l just wanted to make sure you were ok.” No condolensces for my relative? It was odd. Rude and odd. Then my last visit she said she was going to have to talk to Tracie (why the center manager?) to see if she wants to update my prescription or give me driving glasses. I really think she wanted to check with the other dr. Cause she didn’t know what to do. She never called me back. Two weeks later I called and told Tracie this is unacceptable not hearing from them. Bodimer calls me back and she told me she forgot about me. Huh? Left me a msg and said she was ordering my new contact. NO explanation on why she chose that over driving glasses…..sorry this place is a zoo. I don’t trust Bodimer at all. Go to a real Dr practice

I had the best experience at Visionworks at the Waterfront this past fall. I was having a very difficult time with my eyes and I had to undergo three eye surgeries. Over a matter of months, my vision kept changing. The staff particularly Stacey Edwards, were fantastic! Stacey was kind, attentive and worked closely with me at every visit to insure that I had the best glasses solutions possible. I couldn't have made it through without her and Visionworks! Very appreciative.
