Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I was never able to become a new customer at target optical and I'm thank god I didn't. This place is very unprofessional. Last Sunday I scheduled an appointment and I was told I had to reschedule because I was a little late. they could've told me not to come in since they called me right before I left my house. They had me rescheduled to the day I originally wanted and when I showed up they had no idea what I was talking about and was told I wasn't on the schedule. This place wasted my time and I'll never come back here

If you are in the market for new glasses, Kayln is wonderful! So helpful. She young and has great suggestions and opinions. She’s is able to figure out the beat price with your insurance and pricing. Great selection of all the newest looks and trends. Sturdy glasses for men, women and kids.

Never and i mean never go there! We paid $90 for a contact lens exam. They refused to give us my perception. I hate the trail pair they gave me, and now i dont have any contacts or glasses because they would only sell me the same kind of contacts that they gave me for a teail. I cant go somewhere else unless i pay for another eye exam because they wont give me my percription. The clerks there are so rude and nasty. When i say never go there i mean it. Waste of your money.

Worst experience I ever had with an optometrist. Wish I could give 0 stars! I had the last appointment of the day & arrived 15 minutes early. His assistant told him I was there. He waved me back, barely acknowledging me other than to point at the chair for the exam. He was rude, cocky, and arrogant for no reason from the minute I sat down until he left. He rushed through the entire exam, huffing out loud as he slammed drawers and threw his ink pen and clipboard down like a child having a tantrum! He acted like he had somewhere more important to be and that I was a huge inconvenience. The atmosphere was so tense and uncomfortable that I almost asked him why he was acting so unprofessionally. I should have walked out of the exam, but was so desperate for new contacts that I regretfully stayed and put up with his horrible treatment. The icing on the cake was when he started putting his coat on to leave and grab his car keys WHILE I was still in the exam chair! He wrote down my prescription and yelled to his assistant that he was done and ordered her to finish helping me. Once again, he threw his pen across the room onto the counter and left for the evening without saying another word to me or the assistant! I will never go back to Target optical as long as this guy is the optometrist. The only thing I could assume is that he made plans to leave early that evening and my appointment kept him there for the whole shift. All I can say is if you don't want customer appointments at 6 p.m, don't offer them! There's no reason any professional should treat a patient or customer the way I was treated, irregardless of what reason this guy had. Totally unprofessional and unwarranted! I would not recommend him to anybody!
