Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Jung is incredibly gentle and has a calming bedside manor. The staff and Dr. are efficient and thorough. I appreciated getting called back and seen without having to wait. I would definitely recommend Eugene Eyewear!
Susan Homolka | Rating: 5 | Rainbow Optics Willakenzie
Dr Ehlen is the best. He always takes time to do a thorough exam and then explains his findings when he is done. I have been seeing him for many, many years and I always ask for him. Thank you for all these years of great service!
Joe Boxer | Rating: 5 | Rainbow Optics West 18th
I read the reviews prior to patronizing this establishment. While I recognize others have had bad experiences with this business, my experience was great. I went to this business requesting an unusual service. I wanted to pair my used lenses with a used set of frames. I researched what was required, and called around town to optometrists having an “edging machine”. As a warning to customers asking this company to work on your existing used glasses, they cannot and will not be responsible for damage when YOU request they work on YOUR used glasses. This is a reasonable condition if you think of the risk from their position. In my case, they worked on my used, aged glasses without breaking them, and charged me a fair price. Thanks Bobby! I suspect many negative reviews left for this company are based on customer unreasonable expectations. This company’s price and selection on name brand, designer sunglasses is great, much better than Sunglasses Hut.
Hailey Kendrick | Rating: 5 | LensCrafters
I had the greatest experience at this LensCrafters. Jayda and Jered were incredibly helpful and made it possible for me to get my glasses in less than 24 hours & on a weekend! I appreciate them going above and beyond to help me and being so kind through the entire process!
Tyler Jayne | Rating: 5 | Spectacle Shop
I was not a “customer” of The Spectacle Shop before today. I had a pair of brand new prescription sun glasses that got melted through toddler related events, and I was using an older pair with broken hinges until one of the screws popped out. I can’t afford new sunglasses yet so I tried to fix my old ones...it did not go well. I took all of the parts from the two pairs of sunglasses to see if I could combine them into one pair. The ladies working there are AMAZING! When I came back to see how much the repair would be they told me they couldn’t save my sunglasses and I was preparing for the big upsell, but they swapped my lenses into new discontinued frames and wouldn’t let me pay for them! I will get all of my glasses here from now on! 10/10. Highly recommend them if you need new specs!
