Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Was walking past to head out the door and a kind person named Kailee stopped me and asked if I wanted my glasses cleaned. I couldn’t see through them before but when Kailee was done, I could see again.

My wife informed me that we "had" to go shopping and as well, we "had" to stop at the Vision Center. These are two things husbands really never enjoy hearing from their significant other. What's worse? This Vision Center trip was for both of us. I, mid-50's, had to get the ball rolling on my first set of peeps. Not knowing what to expect, I rolled what's left of my eyes and said "Yes, Dear". I can't say that the shopping was fun, but the great people at the Vision Center made my experience actually enjoyable. They were very courteous, professional, and handled my prismatic prescription problems promptly. So, a big "Thank You" to Kailee, Kat, Janet, and Lance. They made my first official trip to the Vision Center amazing. They all deserve a big raise for being so good at what they do. God Bless them. -Kevin

A MUST READ! I scheduled an appointment for myself and the boyfriend about a week to two weeks prior to the appointment date of 8/17/22. My insurance wasn't taken, which I was notified the Monday the week of the appointment, but the boyfriend was able to still keep his appointment. Day of the appointment, the receptionist was curt. The nurse was amazing with talking with us and joking around a little. She even informed us the extra imaging wasn't covered by insurance and informed us the price. The doctor was more of a disappointment. He was to the point and wasn't friendly. The boyfriend occasionally wears contacts for historical reenactments. We were going to simply get the script and order online; however, the doctor was pushy and said my boyfriend would need to be fitted for contacts. No price was mentioned here at this time. The doctor even had the audacity to say that he had put it in backwards and then proceeded to attempt (multiple times) to remove the contact for my boyfriend. We also decided not to get contacts or glasses at the location, much too pricy and not the style he was looking for. We paid the amount due for the exam and extra imaging. Fast forward to today. They called him, stating his birthday is incorrect either with insurance or his paperwork. Caller was rude and abrasive, calling him a liar and also interrupted the boyfriend when he tried to laugh it off lightly. They also stated that the contact fitting was $90 and that I had been contacted and that I told them I would be in to pay it, which NEVER happened. The boyfriend is having the insurance update his birthday information so that the place can submit their claim to get paid, but the fact that we were NOT told that contact fittings are $90 and not covered by insurance, I am highly upset. Neither I nor him will EVER be returning here and I caution others before they decide to book an appointment.

Eye love is fantastic. The service is personal and swift. I was easily able to fit my visit over a lunch break. Very comprehensive, the visit was not rushed. I had plenty of time with both the assistant and the doctor.
