Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I have worn glasses since I was a child and the experience at this Walmart was horrible. It took 4 1/2 weeks and 3 times to get my glasses correct. The customer service at this WALMART is awful, the store manager is not a woman of her word. I would never recommend anyone to go to this store. If you do you'll be SORRY.

This review is about the person working rite now at 5:45pm est on 10/25/18, the employee who is NOT the Dr.... Is EXTREMELY RUDE! She let me stand at the counter for about 5 minutes while she put glasses away and said NOT 1 word to me. If you don't want to help the customers, don't come to "work"! When she FINALLY asked me what she could do for me, I asked her about a vision test and she quickly became very rude and snippy saying the Dr is leaving! Ok. So why take that tone?! How about you sound more friendly about it. Like you want the business or kinda care to have the business. What a moody *#&@!

Dr. Newman was wonderful and had a great experience with the techs. This was my daughter's first eye exam and they all made sure to explain each procedure and thoroughly explained her vision problems.

The staff was very unprofessional! Upon entering the shop there was noone at the counter. As I stood there I turned away to glance at the Eyewear on the wall. When I turned back around (finally) a gentleman was standing there. He never asked if he could help- he just stood there. I then began to tell him my reason for the visit- he never said a word he walked off...another member came to assist me. At that point I immediately canceled the visit and walked out. I'm not the one to tolerate rude behavior especially when I'm the consumer. (mandatory to rate with satrs. 0 not being an option, I went with 1)

Excellent customer service, I went in for a contact fitting, there was a little bit of a wait because they were short staffed and let me tell you they made up for it! The Doc came over and turned on chipmunks for my two young girls and offered them candies to keep them happy and it worked!,The assistant was very friendly and helpful, once it was our turn, they were very Quick and thorough, very polite the entire time, even with my kids happily running around the office,The Doc gave me extra pairs of trial contacts to make sure my script was right and then offered trial pairs of colored contacts with the cases as a bonus, I had a great experience and I highly recommend anybody to go there for eye exams.
