Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I went to MIlford Eye Care because I like to support small businesses and they're supposed to be a VSP premier store. Unfortunately I was sold more expensive lenses than I previously had (Costco rocks!) with less features. When I followed up on my eyeglass order, I was informed that the fabricator made a mistake with my lenses and that I would have to wait an additional 1-2 weeks. Since I'm walking around with "nerd glasses" (scotch tape holding my lenses in), I'm anxious to get my new glasses. Unfortunately the two "ladies" that I spoke to weren't empathetic at all, they were downright rude. My choices were to either wait or wait longer. I was informed that I couldn't speak to a manager because they would be out sick the rest of the week (seems odd to me) and that nobody was covering those duties. I've never heard of a business that doesn't have coverage when a manager is out, but that's how Milford Eye Care rolls. It seems to me that the absentee manager has some serious training to do in the Customer Service area when and if she returns. I do NOT recommend Milford Eye Care. Save your money, time, and aggravation and GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Was asked at the time of purchase if I wanted to cover my son's glasses with a full replacement warranty to which I offered a resounding yes. However, a month later when he damaged the lens, I was told that they don't offer warranties at the time of purchase and I would have to pay $40 for the first replacement and 50% thereafter. This is not what I was told and was never explained even though I clearly told the sales person that my son is rough on his glasses and we've had to replace them 2 or 3 times in previous years so we most certainly want the warranty. The lady on the phone was terribly rude and seemed quite put out at having to deal with this on a Monday morning. She said she feels their policy is very generous and that I am welcome to go elsewhere because that's my choice as a consumer. Clearly they are not in need of retaining clients! I won't be going back to be treated poorly when there are several other places that actually want customers to stay and offer full warranties with unlimited replacement in a 12 month period.

I've been seeing Dr. Weber for more than fifteen years, and have been happy with the care I've received. When I purchased glasses at this office recently, I was helped by Issy, who was very pleasant and helpful. I had picked out some frames before my exam. As I am not able to see frames clearly without lenses, I rely on the opinion of the sales person. Issy and I decided the frames I had chosen looked fine, but I wondered whether there were any others that I should look at before I made my purchase. We looked around, and I pointed out one pair, saying I like this shape, but these were way too big. Issy said, wait here! She came back with a pair I had not seen, and they looked to be a little outside my "comfort zone" in terms of style. But when I put them on, I loved them! I probably wouldn't have looked at them without her help. Now that I have them, people tell me all the time that they are perfect for me – even strangers have commented. And I was pleasantly surprised at the price too. I would highly recommend!
