Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Came here more than 6 times just for two pairs of glasses, since the measurements were taken incorrectly. Today I arrived right after 6, and was trying to pick up a pair that arrived at the store last week, but the ladies inside do not even care, they did not even bother coming to the door to talk to me. I was hesitant to leave a review, but after experiencing such bad customer experience today, i’m done with this. I’m just picking up a pair, and I really would like to thank whoever took the measurements wrong at the first place, since you wasted too much of my time.

I have been unhappy with my experience at Warby Parker. The workers in the store (Pinecrest in Woodmere OH) were great…helpful, good sense of humors, attentive. They should be commended. After that it has gone downhill and been very disappointing. I ordered my glassed two weeks ago. I understand that there is some lead time, but it has been two weeks and I have heard “crickets.” The only updates I receive are when I actually call the customer service line, and (although the reps are very friendly) they have no idea when my glasses will be ready. I paid and extra $30 for my glasses to be expedited in a week, and that was two weeks ago. The company appropriately refunded the $30, but at this point it doesn’t really matter. I spent a lot of money on two pairs of my first progressive lenses in prep for several weeks of intense business travel. Again, I have neither received my glasses nor any information about their whereabouts. I appreciate the entrepreneurship around the model of this business, but it doesn’t seem to work. The market is too competitive, and I can’t see a scenario where I would return as a customer or sing from the hilltops about the company. I’m just being honest. With regards and genuine hope that you improve, Bill PS. It would be great if I could get my glasses. Thanks.

I love going to see Dr. Thatcher and her staff. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and efficient! While I had my exam, they kindly repaired my sunglasses for me. They helped me pick out the most lightweight frames so that I don't get headaches when wearing my glasses. I look forward to my visit each year!
