Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

So pleased with the warm and friendly treatment that I received from the staff and the eye doctor himself. The ladies that I met there were very knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Bradbury did a thorough exam and spent an extensive amount of time explaining his findings. I love my new glasses! I have recommended A Proper View to my friends!

The eye doctor was fine but the guy who was trying to sell me glasses was unbelievable. Told him I wanted to come back later in the day with my fiance to pick out frames. He told me that "the fact that I need her to be present tells him that I need her permission to buy frames." Not only did we not go back for frames, but I'll never step foot in America's Best again.

Okay this for the people who wear glasses, have been wearing them since 5th grade. Okay now that I have your attention, big difference between glasses and distinctive eyewear. If you looking for that distinctive eyeware, the only place you need to look is Coture Eyeware, just see Susan and she will personally direct you to the perfect eye ware, she is the master at matching your personality with the correct eye ware. Want to upgrade your style and attitude ? Everyone raise their hand, I recently had a vision exam with Dr Cogdill. Okay he retired now but still works a few hours a week. Have been going to him for 20 plus years, they have another eye doctor on staff who is also one of the best in the Triad. Okay you had your exam, got your script, walk out and hand it to Susan and the magic begins, sit down relax and watch the master get you the perfect distinctive eye ware. I got the perfect clear frames for inside and the shades, well she went all out with the Revo mirrored shades, most comfortable shades I’ve ever worn, and the look is unique and distinctive. My wife the beautiful Ms Ruby also got several pairs, she a Tom Ford girl and damn she looks fine. This review was done by a very satisfied customer William Hollman on June 3rd 2021. You just looking for glasses well they have places all over town, don’t go for just some glasses, go see Susan, you will be most impressed, To all who have read this be blessed and stay safe

Gwen Cottrell  |  Rating: 5  |  See Well Vision Associates

I can not say enough good things about my experience with SEE WELL IN THE VISION CENTER AT WALMART Kester Mill Rd. Dr Rayner is absolutely the nicest first encounter with an eye Dr. He found a problem that has been bothering me for quite sometime. Provided correct Contact Lens and explained when and what we need to do to fix it. HE WILL DEFINITELY BE MY Dr OF CHOICE. This is the 3rd time working with Kevyn on getting my eyewear and the correct prices which were 30.00 cheaper a box than my previous doctor. He is quick to answer questions and knows about insurance right off the top of his head. Always jovial and wears a smile. Also, I had already told my previous Dr my problem with seeing close captions and TV guide. His solution was to sell me stringer contacts at a higher price. NEEDLESS TO SAY AS LONG AS THEY GET ME MY PRODUCT HERR IN A TIMELY FASHION. I am a Fan of See Well Vision Center as long as they keep this staff

Theresa Capps  |  Rating: 5  |  Forsyth Family Eye Care

Just had my yearly eye exam and as always was impressed with the thoroughness, friendly staff and wide selection of the best looking frames I've ever seen. By far the best eye care facility in the triad! Update: This was my review after my eye exam last year. I just had my exam for this year and have to still say it is the most thorough exam and I totally trust Dr. Appanaitis. I have trouble with anyone, even me, messing with my eyes. They are so understanding of this and very patiently help me have a successful exam. Still the best eye care facility in the triad!
