Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Include: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Both my Doctor (wishing I could remember his name) and Crystal were absolutely fantastic to work with. Friendly, professional and efficient. I would recommend TrueVision to any and all! Thank you for a great first-time patient experience today!

I'm visiting out of town and had an issue with my contacts. The staff was incredibly nice and helped me out of a tight bind so that I could see and not go around the next 5 days blind! If I lived here, would definitely use them as my optometrist office!

Fantastic place to get your eye care and eyewear needs addressed. Dr. Prajapati is a true professional. I've been his patient since 2014 and going in to see him or get support and help from his excellent staff has been a breeze. His practice is determined and structured to help customers and patients. Diana at the front-desk has been extremely helpful and fun to interact with. I would highly recommend this place and Dr. Prajapati!

The staff and doctor are very nice and caring. We've been going there for months for my child to have treatment for an eye condition, so I decided to have them do my routine eye exam vs the person I've gone to for years. I found the costs here to be very high. I had an eye exam, covered by my insurance, but they want you to pay out of pocket for some sort of digital retinal imaging (instead of dilating your eyes) - which I declined- and the "premium" contact lens exam added $135 to my bill ($150 less the 10% discount from my insurance). I've been wearing contacts for 30 years, not even sure why this exam is needed and costs so much. So my whole exam ended up costing more with insurance (copay $10 plus $135 for the contact exam - without the $50 or whatever they wanted for the digital imaging thing) than I paid at my last eye doctor without any insurance.

I brought my five-year-old son in this morning. I chose this location because of the positive reviews and because they have the pediatric eye chart with pictures instead of letters. Everyone that I encountered was friendly and helpful. The lady (Crystal) who initially saw us and did all the exams with my son was very upbeat and made it like a game for him. She was really good with kids. The doctor was easy to talk to and the optician who helped us find my son‘s glasses was very patient and even brought out a couple different magazines for us to look through and called their other location for me to see which glasses they had in stock there. The office was very clean and calm. I was very happy with my experience here and would highly recommend it!
