Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.
What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?
What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I want to say thank you to the doctor and the staff for being kind to family during our visit. This Optometry is located inside the North Post Exchange. If you enter from the food court it's in the opposite direction, entering from the main entrance, head towards your left until you reach the end you can't miss the big sign. Risk Optometric is a clean place and they also have a little play room if you have children. The only complaint I have is maybe the staff could be little bit more interactive like my San Diego Optometry where they would talk back to me when I tell them random stuff but the doctor was cool she does a great job interacting with me and from my observation her other patients too. I like feeling welcomed and if I don't feel welcomed I never come back to whatever store or clinic I have bad experience. I would totally recommend this place for your eye check up or contact lense need.

I would not recommend the vision center (the eye doctor clinic) in the North PX. Receptionist and nurse are rude, condescending and unhelpful. The doctor is fine... When I walked out, the doctor apologized for his staff. Also, it's not associated with military health care, it's private, but they do take Tricare for your yearly exam. The optical shop, however (where you actually get your glasses) is great! Friendly, helpful and fast service there.

I've been dealing with eye issues for about a year now and can finally allow a sigh of relief to happen because I am now confident they will, with time, begin to be resolved and I can return to wearing contacts:)! I called and made an apt to get in (super easy as the staff are extremely professional, friendly, and understanding of your valuable time), and was seen on 02/27/16 by Dr.Rosado-Martin. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone! She is the first optometrist to truly inform me of the issues I'm having, how to combat them, and how to be proactive about keeping my eyes healthy. She informed me on things that no one had ever mentioned at all and she made sure that i truly grasped it all! She also didn't rush through my appointment, she made sure to ask questions to truly understand the issues at hand and properly "diagnose." She also put me in contacts that would be extremely better for my overly dry allergy battling eyes! She was extremely kind and I truly enjoyed talking with her I genuinely believe that she truly wants the best for her customers- to get those eyes nice and healthy! ha. I instantly called my husband and bragged on her because like I said above, I've never had an optometrist quite like her before, and I will defiantly be returning to her while we are here.

Dr. Martin made the entire experience enjoyable! she was so informative and proactive. She truly took the time to listen to what I had to say, and answer all the questions I had. By far the best experience I have had with an eye exam!

I was able to get an appointment within three days and they even allow walk-ins, but bring a book! The staff has a nice souther charm about them and the doc is not only very thorough, but is super-cool as well. I will continue to be a patient for sure!
