Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Would give zero stars if possible. Made an apptment, it was cancelled because the doctor wasn't going to be there. Rescheduled for a week later. Day before I get a call - apptment cancelled again. Meanwhile, I'm running out of contacts because silly me thought several weeks would be enough for these people to finally see me. Going some place where apptments are honored or at least effort is made to accommodate the client when cancelling repeatedly on them.

If I could rate this a zero out of five I would. I’ve been shopping at LensCrafters for years. I provided my prescription, my measurements for the glasses, and the model I would like to proceed to purchase. I was told by a associate over the phone that you are not aloud to purchase glasses if you don’t live it New York State or purchase glasses if you don’t have your eye care doctor isn’t in New York. I’ve never heard of such. I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe it. I explained in detail to the associate that I’ve been doing business with LensCrafters for years. The associate never gave myself a clear reason to my questions on “Why can’t I?” “I’ve purchased prescription glasses in the past, what’s different?” The associate said it was a New York State law that would result in a fine. I advise to shop elsewhere. The Crossgates Mall location is not it. I had phenomenal customer service experience with the Wilton Mall location.

I went into the local Lensecrafter because I lost a nose pad. When I walked in the door, I was greeted and I just showed them the glasses and I didn’t say a word. They instantly said that I was missing the nose pad. They put 2 new nose pads on my glasses, cleaned the lenses and the glasses are nice and comfortable again. They were very responsive. Thank you for the great service!

I went to Dr Salgato and I never knew I needed glasses she explained my astigmatism to me and sent me out to Annette (I think her name was) who helped me pick out some great glasses. Myself and my family will absolutely be going back.

They exceeded my expectations, the staff was kind enough to reschedule me for the next available appointment which was same day Dr Gutmaker was super chill and took his time to answer all of my questions and I was the last patient, I did not feel rushed. Thanks!
