Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Several months ago one of the associate's help me obtain my insurance information. America's Best told me to call my HR department.. I scheduled my appointment but missed it the second time I called I received my appointment I went really simple eye exam kinda too simple literally read one line. However I picked out my frames received a call a few days later my glasses were ready. Careful though the associate had added a few things but I told her immediately I only want to pay the difference in the cost of the frames after insurance. I spent 18 dollars that was the price for the eye exam and the difference in the price of the frames. First pair of designer frames BEBE I love them I can see clearly will return.

LaShondra was very rude during the two times I walked in this afternoon. I was willing to wait for the optician to return the first time after she told me he wasn't in, without even noticing my presence as a customer. The second time I walked in she stated to me that the optician still wasn't in. I am writing this review because after stating that the optician was not in the second time I came back, she approached me at the counter after a 5 minute wait and said, "Would you like my help now, ma'am?" She maliciously did this acting as if I hadn't approached her for help beforehand twice. She also said that she wasn't allowed to retrieve my glasses without an optician being present. Regardless of whether this is true or not, I can understand having a bad day, but I am posting this so that no one has to deal with what I dealt with today. I was going to give a five-star review before meeting this associate today but now I have changed my mind. Beware of the customer service here because I was very polite to this lady and she was very rude and disrespectful back to someone she doesn't even know and should be reprimanded accordingly.

Normally I take my daughter to vision today, where the providers and staff are truly 5 star. I had to make a quick run into Walmart while doing yard work. I happened to walk by the eye center and decided to take quick look at the children’s frames. I was approached by an associate, who I found to be unprofessional. I explained to her that my daughter follows with a provider else where but the children’s frames for her are limited since she’s so petite. I told her My daughter is due for her annual eye check up in a couple months so it would make more sense for her to get an eye exam if i was going to purchase new glasses for her. I asked the associate how far out were the eye exam appointments booking. Her response is what I found COMPLETELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She proceeded to tell me eye exams with their doctor were $100+, and she recommended I take my child to nemour’s because they gave Medicaid patients free eye exams. Then stated if I was someone with shallow pockets she highly recommended I go that route. I NEVER mentioned what kind of insurance my daughter had. I NEVER asked for the cost of the exam or not being able to afford it. She made assumptions based off of me being in my yard work clothes. I work for ascension medical group and our insurance is a pretty good one, and also happens to be the insurance my daughter has. I could also afford to pay for the exam out of pocket. I wouldn’t have asked if I couldn’t. I didn’t get her name, but she the red haired, heavy set associate with glasses. Honestly, she was dressed pretty sloppy for an associate at an eye center. Don’t really see how she felt like she had room to make assumptions
