Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

If i could give this place NO STARS I would. After finally waiting to get my glasses, I told the optician that the medication and lens was off because I couldn't see correctly. She told me it would wear off after a couple days because new prescription takes a while to get use to. That night I went home and had a major headache. After looking at my glasses I realized the lens was not sitting in the the frame right and was tilting. I have astigmatism so they have to sit just right. I stopped wearing them and went back the next day to get them adjusted. I wore that for another day and was still getting headaches. Then I realized the optician ordered the wrong size frame which sat tight on the bridge of my nose. I took them back and they agreed the optician ordered incorrectly so I had to wait another two weeks to get the correct frames. Once those came I tried adjusting to them again. However I now had migraines. The optician swore it takes some ppl 30 days to adjust. I have been wearing glasses for 13 years and it has never taken me more than 2 days to adjust to a prescription. And the new prescription was not a major jump. Just 0.25 which is the smallest you can go. I then took them back again and asked could she had gotten the prescription wrong again since she already ordered the wrong frame size. She stated everything was entered correctly and I just had a hard time adjusting. I had been wearing the glasses for a week and a half and was having bad migraines, dizziness, vomiting, and blurry vision. At this point I did not agree and asked to get a refund and get another eye exam to correct the prescription. She was so rude and said it wasn't her fault and she couldn't help me and hung the phone up on me. The next day I demanded to speak to the office manager about the employee unprofessional behavior, getting a refund and having a second exam. I finally got a refund, but my problem was not over. Because of the damage already done to my eyes, I ended up having migraines, constant vomiting, blurred vision and vertigo for 3 months. I also could not drive do this effect. After 13 doctor visits and losing my job I think this place should pay me unemployment, medical bills, and should be shut down or at least fire this employee due to all the hardship I went through. Just one small mistake ending up ruining my life for months. This is highly unacceptable. Btw the optician name was Anita. But if I were you I would never set foot in this establishment.

How is any working person supposed to get glasses here? Hours M-F 8am - 4pm. Sat sun closed? I cant even say you have bankers hours, because banks have better hours! I've always got my glasses here, but now I can't. You losing a lot of business. Not even an answering machine when you call?

Last year they canceled my appointment 30 minutes before my appointment time. Becuase doctor wasn’t going to be in. I live half hour away so I was already on road and didn’t get message until I pulled into parking lot 10 minutes before my appointment. By reading other reviews I see this a regular thing they happens.

Great service, very helpful, and great selection of frames. My b/f and I went for eye appointments, glasses and contacts this weekend. Everyone who helped us was so nice and friendly. The staff member who worked with us, Janice, was very helpful, patient, kind, and went above and beyond. She explained all our options when it came to various lens choices and what would work best for each of us, any cost savings that would help us, and was patient while I tried on almost every frame in the store. I had intended to get a pair of glasses and prescription sunglasses, but it was such a great experience, I ended up getting a third pair of glasses for myself (a second pair of Rx sunglasses). I also love that the store carried Pride merchandise.

I have been to this place befofe, so this is my second year. The first time I didn’t have any problem, besides the wait time that was long even with the appointment. But this last visit has been a complete nightmare and a very frustrating experience. I did the eye exam for both contacts and glasses. I got the prescription for the glasses, bought the glasses and as soon as it arrived I noticed that I couldn’t see well in the right eye. I called them and they told me to go there without the need of an appointment so they could check if the glasses were done right. They were spot on, they said I couldn’t see the doctor again because he wasn’t there. Ok this was on a Saturday, I called on Monday explained the situation and asked for an appointment, they said I didn’t need any appointment that I could just walk in and the doctor would see me. As soon as I get there they told me that the doctor WOULD NOT see me AGAIN, because I didn’t have an appointment. This is disrespectful in so many levels, specially with other time, I work all day and all week and don’t have time to go FOUR times to the same place because everyone keeps giving me wrog information. I am mad at this point. PLEASE, go to any other plase but this one. It is not worth it and they won’t respect your time and treat you like you are the one kn the wrong. DO NOT RECOMMEND. If I could I would give 0 stars.
