Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Only go here if you wish to have your time wasted. I called ahead of going to see if they accepted walk-ins and if I could come now. I was assured yes. When I arrived, another man was waiting so I asked how long until I could be seen, as I had work in an hour and a half in the city. The worker told me only 15-20 mins, so I stayed. 10 mins later the man that was waiting said he couldn't wait any longer and stormed off. That should have been my clue, but I thought maybe he was waiting for something else. After 45 mins I asked for an update and they said only 5 more minutes and I was next. After 15 more minutes the last exam finished, and they called someone else. I went back up and said, that I needed to go to work and that they said I was next. They gave me some excuse that the person they called just needed 5 minutes. I waited another 10 before giving up. I totally understand if it's busy, or there is a long wait, but SAY THAT. Don't lie and waste a person's time. An absolute waste of my time.

I have been going to Dr. J for more than 20 years. I started with him when he was at Pearl Vision Center at Mill Creek Mall, then moved along with him throughout the years. Great Doctor! Very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything to you, always willing to help with cost and cares about his patients.

I see negative reviews here about the manager, Angie. I don't know if I've had any interaction with her, but everyone I've worked with at this location has been super friendly and accomidating, most recently I worked with Joonho. I've had my past 3 pairs of Ray Ban frames filled here, and have to say that my experiences have been really pleasant. I've been pleased with how helpful everyone has been, as well as the quick turn around time and the quality of their work. I would recommend this location to anyone who asks.

I have gotten my eye exams over the past two years due it being at a convenient location for me. I was seen by Dr. Naumova, who was nice. I have been ordering my contact lenses here several times and never really had a problem until last month when it was time for me to re-order. I re-ordered my contacts through one of the employees of the center on 8/16/19, who then stated she would call me when they were ready. Usually, it takes just about a week and then I would get a call from an employee saying that my contacts have arrived and were ready for pickup. On 8/24/19, I called to follow up on the status of my order. The female employee stated that my contacts are in the store, but haven't been delivered to the vision center yet. She then told me that they should arrive by that afternoon and that I could pick them up preferably, the next day. I arrived in-person to the vision center on 8/26/19 and was serviced by Joonho, who said that they are still waiting to my order to arrive at the store. I explained to him that I called two days earlier and was told that my contacts were already in store. He said they actually weren't in the store and took a look at my order on the computer. He then told me that it takes about 7-10 days for orders to arrive, then he slowly realized it's already been 10 days since I placed the order. Then he said, "we'll call you when it's here", which has been all I had been hearing from these people since I placed the order for my contacts. On 9/1/19, after doing some shopping, I decided to just see what the status was with contacts. A male employee took a look at my order, who stated that they are still waiting for it and that it is probably due to "my prescription strength"... mmkay. Then he said they would "call me", as per usual. I decided to just get a copy of my prescription and order them myself, and see which would come in earlier. Three days after ordering the contacts myself, I received my contacts at my home and STILL haven't heard from this vision center regarding my order. Not sure what you all are doing with my order, but I decided to take my business elsewhere.

I LOVE Dr. J he is the best and he is so kind as well going to hate when he decides to retire because I will never find a doctor like him again. I have no insurance but I still go to him because I don't trust anyone else sad thing is I have to save for my exam and glasses before I can go but it is worth it because he is that AWESOME
