Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Dr. Jessica Haake’s new office “Bright Eyes Optometry” is amazing! From the moment I walked in, the reception staff were so pleasant and welcoming! Dr. Haake is warm, courteous and so very knowledgeable! The Doctor took the time to explain the different procedures of the exam, and was happy to answer all my questions. All the examining rooms and equipment were very clean and sanitized, which is very important to me these days! I chose two pair of glasses from the wonderful selection. I highly recommend Dr. Jessica Haake and Bright Eyes Optometry! You will love this office!

I had been intrigued about Eye Design since seeing local commercials with a great vibe for the past several years. I finally made time to travel to Red Bank, as my optometrist's frame stylist had left the practice and I did not like the frame selection or expertise of the new staff. I needed an expert optometrist/fashionista! I found that in Trish. Trish saw that at 59, I am a business woman who dresses fairly conservatively (a lot of black), but was seeking an updated look. I had so much fun exploring in this beautiful boutique and I had Trish's undivided attention. I ended up with Anne et Valentin frames that are funky and as dark as I need them, with progressive lens. I like that Trish didn't make me feel like I had been wearing something dated or unattractive, but instead had a forward-looking attitude of finding something more interesting and a bit fun. My new glasses have superlative lens, amazing frames and will protect my eyes and the skin around them from the sun. I never step outside without sunglasses on, so for me, these are more important than many other things and the older I get the more $ I spend on shoes, bags and glasses....for my comfort and convenience. I like dealing with quality products and professionals with expertise and would rather spend money on glasses I wear every day than outfits I cycle through. My two eyes are more and more critical to me, as I age. I doubt I will go anywhere else for glasses again. It would be a true step down from the experience I had here and I already cannot wait to see what they come up with for my "regular" glasses, next time I am in!

Quite impressed with Dr. Haake, staff (Erin) and office. Office is bright, clean and comfortable. Everyone was quite accommodating and patient with us. Eye exam with Dr. Haake was thorough and painless, wonderful experience. I had a difficult time making frame selections and Erin was great in helping me make my selection. Stayed in my price range and love my frames. Really enjoyed my experience @ Bright Eyes

After a few tries elsewhere, my wife and I have been buying our glasses at Eyedesign since we moved from Manhattan several years ago. The shop's careful, expert and considerate staff makes eye glass selection and fit an enlightening and enjoyable experience. The store's eyeglass selection is weighted toward high style, more contemporary designs, reflecting their periodic buying trips to Paris, Milan and other global fashion centers. Nonetheless, they have plenty of more classic selections from top, well known brands for traditionalists like myself. Eyedesign also has an excellent optometrist in residence Thursdays and Saturdays, which is very convenient.
