Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

First time visiting here. I did my eye exam which gave me my contacts for a discount. Absolutely would recommend. The doctor was so helpful on 09/28/2022. Rey helped me pick out my prescription eye glasses which I knew what styles I liked from the home try on process. He was very helpful and I would recommend anyone looking for a cost effective eye exam and designer frames for cheap. Ordered glasses and contacts which should be coming in the mail in 7 days or so. Great experience.

My husband and I went to pick up our glasses. Walked in and looked around- no one greeted us. So went to the counter to let them know why we were there. Gave my name and email. Associate said you have to see an optometrist to pick up your glasses. I thought strange since if we had chosen to have them sent to our home, there would be no optometrist there. We waited and waited about 15 minutes and no assistance. A woman walks in and gets service right a way. I then ask how is this possible- associate says oh she’s not waiting to see an optometrist. I then ask how many optometrist are there. She says oh just 1. I said oh that’s just crazy but ok. After waiting 25 minutes I noticed the one so called optometrist called up the women who came in after us. I begin to say something and was immediately told that ohh she has your glasses and she is going to help you. Oddly I watched this person with blue green hair who is now going to help us go back and forth for the past 20 minutes just helping random people or doing nothing. Apparently she was also an optometrist. Needless to say I was furious. One because we were lied too and the other they helped someone who came in after us. I was also shocked to see how cavalier they were about helping us. Basically it doesn’t matter that you just spent over $500 on these plastic glasses. I grabbed my glasses off the counter and then I asked for the manager and was told that the two so called optometrist were the managers. So complaining at that point was worthless. I will never patronize this Warby Parker again. Funny thing is - when we ordered our glasses we didn’t get out the door before we were bombarded with surveys after surveys to complete. Today, nothing. No survey to ask about our experience. I wonder why!???

Excellent experience with their Filipino Optometrist. Was very friendly, respectful, and thorough. The sales staff were also great. But most of all, I was very happy with the two prescription eyewear that I purchased. Excellent product and support. Will be back.
