Contact lenses are small lenses that are in "contact" with your eyes. They are designed to correct refractive errors and keep your eyes healthy. The lenses are in the tear film on the cornea. Modern contact lenses are small lenses worn over the cornea of the eye. Modern contact lenses whether soft or hard. Most people wear soft contact lenses, but it wasn't that long ago that lenses were made of glass. Colored contact lenses can make your eyes more intense or completely change the color of your eyes, and costume contact lenses can help create special effects seen on the big screen.

What is the difference between glasses and contact lenses?

Unlike glasses, contact lenses do not limit the field of vision. With glasses, the field of vision is limited, causing people to have to turn their head to see something from the side.

Can I sleep in contact lenses?

Modern soft contact lenses allow enough oxygen to the eye, but when you sleep, your eyes are closed and, therefore, the access of oxygen to them is reduced.

What are the harms of contact lenses?

Prolonged contact lens wear causes the cornea to thin (keratocytes lose their ability to synthesize new tissue). This can happen even with proper lens wear 3-5 years after use. In the case of reaction to hypoxia (lack of oxygen), the main complication is the formation of new blood vessels.

Michael The Optician gives exceptionally great service! I am a repeat satisfied customer since 2002. My eye candy is exquisite, fashionably tasteful, due to the color of my lenses and how I love my gradient tent is always done perfectly, and the most recent sale I convinced Michael of Black Lenses vs. the Gray that were the original Lens. (5) Awesome pairs of eye candy from a high end customer oriented professionals such as Noble Optical and Michael. Signed Ecstatically Happy Customer, Shandra M. Wilson Jiggetts

Really great staff, and have a good selection of brands (from budget to high end and they were able to order in if there was a certain spec you liked). I had lost my glasses (prescription) and went in at 6.30pm ; they kindly squeezed in an appointment to get my lenses (which my insurance covered) and they kindly made them within a few days. Overall a very nice experience and I believe they have a few stores around NJ/jersey City so they must be doing something right

Pieter Nel  |  Rating: 5  |  Harborside Optical

Super efficient, professional, fast and friendly service from everyone at Harborside Optical. I'm very impressed with their level of service and in addition it was at a substantially better price for my new set of lenses than I was quoted in Manhattan. As a part-time pilot I'm very particular about my glasses and contact lenses and the folks here understood my requirements and met it perfectly.
