Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I have visited doctors office couple of months before and the doctor is very good and his bed side manners were good. However, the receptionist was very non-responsive. I have reached out to Doctors office for my medical bill and provided all the information that they have asked for. I went through this drill not once but thrice and they have noted down all the informationand promised to call me back to provide the bill, which never happened. The one answer, which I always get is she is very busy and cant provide me any information no matter what time or day I call, which I highly doubt. At-least have the courtesy to call your patients as promised. Here I am trying to pay the bill and the last thing I want is you guys sending the medical bill to the address I no longer live and that going to impact my credit. I have also got a summary of what I owe from my insurance and can’t believe you cant spend couple of minutes to a patient who has been trying to pay the bill. This is really disappointing and please learn to respect the time of others!

Dr. Randy Kansky and his staff were very helpful and patient through the process. I have strong prescriptions so glasses that fit well are essential to my everyday life. I'm very happy with the glasses and the contact lenses that Dr. Kansky prescribed for me.

Had a good experience at the practice today. Sales lady was very friendly and helpful. Everyone in the store was friendly and Dr Lui was professional, informative and provided a thorough eye exam. Highly recommend this place. Too bad they didn't have the specs I wanted.

I had an emergency- a foreign object in my eye and my regular eye doctor couldn’t squeeze me in. Wise squeezed me in within an hour of calling and the way the assistant and doctor treated me while I was there was 11/10. I can not recommend this place more due to the staffs care and urgency in my situation to the doctors attention to detail for my eye care and after care. Best eye place I have EVER been to. Will be going here forever now

I curse the day I walked into this horrid place. I had been switched to a new Optical plan from work that made me look for a new eye place and this place is one of their premier locations. Not only was the staff rude, condescending and awful but they were racist towards minorities. The staff must have believed I had half a brain and kept trying to scam more money out of me by saying i need to pay for this and that when my benefits clearly covered the cost. It was only when I threatened to report them and showed them printed proof that they backed off. This was by far the worst eye place or service provider I have ever dealt with. I will be reporting them to the BBB and report them to my insurance company for scamming and fraud. I sincerely hope they go out of business or get audited for trying to scam honest hard working people out of there money. I would give negative stars if possible, one star is way too kind. Update: Seems I tried using their prescription to order contacts from online for way cheaper price and was denied. The reason from Eyeshapes to the online retailer was that the prescription was for a special type of contacts that only their stores carry! How unbelievable is that?!? On top of this, these special brand of contacts that are only available with Eyeshapes gave me an eye infection! I have since reported them several times to my insurance provider and BBB.
