Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Excellent customer service at this location! Dr. Storbeck is very patient and kind. The store staff is amazing! We worked with Jan, Mike, Jess, and Lady (there was one more employee who’s name I didn’t get) and each of them has been wonderful. They are so helpful with me and my entire family in the process of ordering glasses and trying on contacts. I cannot give enough praise! Thanks so much, it’s a wonderful, convenient option for glasses for us and we will keep coming back.

Check-in at the front door, inside the pearle Vision space, was easy. The office redesign (placement of the testing machines) and involvement of staff to conduct preliminary testing helped the appointment run smoothly. The doctor was attentive, explained test results and answered my questions.

Purchased glasses at Perle vision (Bridgewater) for the first time in September (after seeing Dr Martin Storbeck for years) and am very happy with them. Jan Cianci was very helpful with picking out frames and the entire purchase. I definitely recommend Perle vision if you are looking to order glasses. (Phyllis Miller)

One of the arms of my glasses frame broke after it fell. I have never been to Pearle Vision before, I heard good things about it from my friend and I decided to give it a try. The representative was so friendly and professional there. She immediately helped me fix my problem in less time they said they would need. I definitely will go back and get my new prescriptions there from now on!

I spent 1.5 hours in an annual eye exam that should’ve taken 15-30 mins tops. I arrived to check-in, the lady didn’t even ask for my name. After almost 20 mins she finally called for filling forms. Then, I passed to the exam area, I really I didn’t see them wipe anything.. so I hope they did. They doctor was super nice and thorough. By this time I had been 1.5 hrs in… I came out to pay and get my prescription (the store is super dated so I decided to pick glasses somewhere else). The desk lady, in a very snarky tone answered “you should have asked it to your doctor”. I was confused… am I supposed to know how they operate? Anyway, I was informed that the doctor had taken another patient and that it would take a while… I’m like… how was I supposed to know I needed to ask this to be handed by my doctor? At that time I was done being there and she went even snarkier “I am not a doctor of course I cannot sign this prescription!”. I was about to loose it, for starting, this is not what I asked her to do, the tone was completely unnecessary and I never disrespected her (although I thought about it). I said, listen - I’ve been here for 1.5 hours and my tone started getting louder. I guess that’s why she backed off and offer to email it to me. Which I accepted and walked out. The PDF wasn’t even properly scanned but at leas I received it, right? All this to say, I’m NEVER EVER EVER coming back nor recommending this place to anyone I know. Absolute nightmare and wasted time.
