Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Bought new lenses from a third party and for the life of me couldn’t get the old lenses out of my frame. After having bought neither the lenses or frame from lens crafters, I went in and they replaced my lenses for free - amazing. 10/10 would recommend

Michael was very helpful. I didn't think think my insurance covered LensCrafters, but he told me that he would run it just to make sure and it turns out they do. He ended up saving me a significant amount of money because he was willing to put in the effort.

The Staff were fantastic. Great service. I went in as my current pair of glasses are scratched and I needed a new prescription. All went well until I received my new glasses and nothing out of arms length was in focus. I was informed these are reading glasses. I specifically requested the same lenses as my old glasses or the equivalent as I work with computers, wall mounted projectors and a myriad of other things just out of arms reach. I explained and was brought in for the "type of lenses" talk. Everything was going great till they said I would have to pay again at full price as they already billed my insurance for the incorrect lenses, over $660.00. They wanted another 300 for new lenses. When I asked why I should do that, they explained that is how things go. The "manager" said I would have to pay the full price. Again, great staff, slightly dodgy practice when it comes to billing. Was not happy with my glasses or the situation they left me in, new barely usable glasses. So, two stars.

From the initial phone call until we left LensCrafters, Mel and Diane delivered professional, personable and extremely knowledgeable customer service in a situation that needed immediate attention. What began as a stressful situation of needing new glasses that day ended with smiles all around!

Go elsewhere for your optical needs. Terrible patient customer service here. I was scolded for coming in to look at frames without an appointment. I had wanted to look to help aid in my decision whether or not to come here again this year. I was even willing to look with my eyes and not touch anything. I had come in wearing a mask, and I passed their temperature check, but I was still treated with such a rude attitude by the front desk women. I had been a patient here for the past few years. Never again. I visited several other optical locations today, where I was allowed to browse and all had such a pleasant welcoming atmosphere. I am truly appalled at Manchester Eye Associates and how they treat their patients. Stay away from here if you value a positive and welcoming atmosphere for your medical needs. For you will not find that here!
