It is impossible to give universal advice on choosing the perfect frames and lenses. But there is one golden rule: when choosing frames you should consider not only their appearance but also discuss the following questions with a specialist (optometrist): Where and how, mostly, are you going to use your glasses? What are your habits? Do you plan to wear your glasses while playing sports, for example? Eyeglass lenses have different optical powers, which are expressed in dioptres. The optical power is determined by fitting glasses. Size of the frame - the larger the frame the more aberration (distortion) may be at the edges of the lens.
What frame fits on the lens?
Metal and plastic frames are equally suitable. In particular, active activities such as riding a motorcycle, running or playing ball require curved frames to protect the eyes from wind, insects, debris, etc.
How do you know if eyeglass lenses aren't right?
You can tell if lenses are not suitable by certain signs. It is important to understand that there is an adjustment period for any optics. Symptoms of improperly fitting glasses are as follows: headache; dizziness; a feeling of sand, increased tearfulness of the eyes; high fatigue of the organs of vision.
Why do my eyes hurt when wearing new glasses?
Eye muscles learn to compensate for changing visual demands. Because these muscles and focusing systems suddenly have to work differently, you may develop headaches, dizziness, or just a feeling that something is wrong with your eyes. (This also applies to contact lenses).
Which glass or plastic eyeglass lenses are better?
Glass makes it difficult to make a progressive or aspherical lens. Also, glass lenses do not fit rimless frames. Plastic lenses are twice as light as glass lenses, so glasses with them are more comfortable to wear for a long time, and plastic lenses are much less traumatic than glass lenses. Firstly, plastic itself is more resistant to breakage, and secondly, its splinters are not as sharp and dangerous.
Which lenses for glasses are more expensive?
The thinner and stronger the lenses, the more expensive they are. Lenses made of photochromic, polarizing or sunglasses are more expensive than colorless (clear) lenses. Lenses can be stock or prescription lenses. Stock lenses are cheaper - they are ready-made, in stock, and can be quickly fitted to eyeglasses.

There is clearly a good reason why I couldn't get an appointment anywhere else. My goal was to give a new place a try for an eye exam, but I couldn't get N accommodating appointment, so I decided to try Stanton again since this location had been so good to me the three other times I visited this location...and they did not disappoint at all. Anna, Chloe and Ashley were so kind and welcoming. Each one explained everything I wanted to know in great detail, and never failed to check on me. Each lady felt like a good friend. I'm definitely sticking with Stanton, and this location. I'm not too keen on the idea of having a virtual exam, but the great customer service made it worth dealing with a virtual eye exam. I love this location!

Horrible billing department! Will not go back there. Mindy may have been a good eye doctor but their billing department was BAD! They billed my health care insurance instead of my eye care insurance and would not rerun the claim so I was stuck with the bill.....even though they got a pre authorization from my eye care insurance company the day of my appointment!

Would highly recommend not using their optometric services. Was initially written an incorrect prescription and given a bit of a runaround, with them lying to my face about the lenses being made incorrectly. Then they said they would be happy to give me whatever prescription I'd like (instead of redoing the eye exam) which seemed odd. The whole experience was very haphazard and felt like a massive waste of time going back and forth over nearly a month. If you value your time and getting an accurate prescription look elsewhere.
