Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Staff and doctor are very friendly but the glasses are too expensive, husband paid $300 after his insurance covered $100, so I chose to purchase from Zenni optical. Also there is a seperate charge $71.20 for a contact evolution and a photo of your eye $34 they do not inform you of until you are at the desk checking out. Be prepared to pay at least $100 out of pocket (bill would have been close to $400 without insurance). They also didn't have change for a $10 and had to credit my account. My insurance covered most of the expense thank God but I would have rather gone somewhere else and not have to pay additional fees for the same service. Now I still have to pay for contacts and new glasses. My husband and I will be finding a new eye doctor that isn't so expensive.

My whole experience was great. The staff that checked me in were very friendly and quick. Dr. Wegener was so nice and thorough, even giving me recommendations on the best BBQ in KC. He made sure that I walked away with the correct contacts, trying multiple options until we got it just right. He even walked me through the photos of the back of my eye, explaining what they look out for and how they use the images to determine health issues in other parts of the body! No one has ever taken the time to explain those things before. Very happy with my decision to go here and will be recommending them.

I have been to Fairway in Liberty several times now and this year is my biggest disappointment. I choose to keep my same frames and just order the glasses for my daughter and myself. I was told you drop your glasses off in Tuesday and pick them up Wednesday or drop off Friday and pick up Saturday. The Tuesday before thanksgiving I was told I could drop off and pick up Wednesday. I went to do this and was told Shelly had left early for vacation and I could not get my glasses done. I was told to drop them off this Friday and they would be done Saturday 12-7-19. Again I take off work on Friday to drop off by 100 pm and I call at 1030 am on Saturday. No show from Shelly. I have already paid for the lenses. I ask to speak to a manager and guess who that is Shelly who never shows to work. So at this point I have taken Off 3 partial days to drop off an pick up and went the same amount of days with no glasses and they are still not fixed. I am out the money I have paid Fairway. I am out days off work and nobody seems to be able to do anything. The disappointment is real and I still can’t see clearly. Customer service at its poorest.

I brought my Mom's glasses in for repair (she's currently a resident at a nursing home). Not only did the woman in the eye glass department fix Mom's glasses for nothing; she also gave me a case to keep them in! Mom just called..........they fit perfectly! Thank you, Bennett Eyecare!

The doctor I see is great but each time I come I have to wait an absurd amount of time. Each time (3 times in the last month) I waited anywhere from 30-45 minutes. Besides the wait I have no complaints. I highly recommend reorganizing how many patients you take at a time or utilize a better time management system. Every time I come I also hear people who walk up to the front desk with the same complaints about the wait time.
