Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I was recommended to go to Precision Vision by friends and family, and I was highly impressed! The staff was so friendly and professional, there was hardly even a wait to go back to the exam room. Dr. Wilson was incredible at making me comfortable and knowing my vision was in good hands. I’ll be going back! Highly recommend!

I’m actually legally blind (Without my contacts). I had an ulcer on my cornea. I was driving like a belt out of hell to catch the office before it closed. It was to no avail. Made it there at approximately 5:09, in pain n with vision out of only one eye. Called the emergency number and the ever-so kind doctor, not only let me in but he looked at my eye, gave his medical advice, a free contact and insisted that I call if I had any further problems with my eye……… Now, I said allllll of that to say this….. I miss Dr. Ed, indeed, I do but it is clear he left his practice in good hands and I am a thankful woman for the doctor that let me in after his work hours.

My daughter just visited Dr. Wilson for the first time and she was a little nervous but he was great at explaining everything to her and making her feel comfortable. He did a fantastic job. She needed glasses and the lady in the glasses department was amazing. She was so kind and helpful. My daughter loves her glasses. I would recommend this Dr office to everyone. Thank you for the great customer service.

Great place! Really nice people! My first time there and the process was very smooth and fast. I didn't feel rushed and i felt like my needs were met. The optical specialist was awesome we had a little fun but overall found the best pair of glasses for my face! My insurance was greatly used at this place walked out spending very little money on a really high tech pair of glasses.

I went in here for new glasses and exam. Exam appt went well, chose the glasses, paid extra out of pocket for frames..they said 7 to 10 days. I get a call saying they never received payment for my frames. Error on their part because I did. This caused me to have to wait another week without glasses. Got the glasses in, got them home realized they are the size of child's glasses, way to small for my face, the lady should have caught that as is her job...took them back to see if I could get something different or at least bigger, lady in there is really rude, said I'd have to pay all over again...what a joke. I never would recommend this place to anyone...
