It is impossible to give universal advice on choosing the perfect frames and lenses. But there is one golden rule: when choosing frames you should consider not only their appearance but also discuss the following questions with a specialist (optometrist): Where and how, mostly, are you going to use your glasses? What are your habits? Do you plan to wear your glasses while playing sports, for example? Eyeglass lenses have different optical powers, which are expressed in dioptres. The optical power is determined by fitting glasses. Size of the frame - the larger the frame the more aberration (distortion) may be at the edges of the lens.

What frame fits on the lens?

Metal and plastic frames are equally suitable. In particular, active activities such as riding a motorcycle, running or playing ball require curved frames to protect the eyes from wind, insects, debris, etc.

How do you know if eyeglass lenses aren't right?

You can tell if lenses are not suitable by certain signs. It is important to understand that there is an adjustment period for any optics. Symptoms of improperly fitting glasses are as follows: headache; dizziness; a feeling of sand, increased tearfulness of the eyes; high fatigue of the organs of vision.

Why do my eyes hurt when wearing new glasses?

Eye muscles learn to compensate for changing visual demands. Because these muscles and focusing systems suddenly have to work differently, you may develop headaches, dizziness, or just a feeling that something is wrong with your eyes. (This also applies to contact lenses).

Which glass or plastic eyeglass lenses are better?

Glass makes it difficult to make a progressive or aspherical lens. Also, glass lenses do not fit rimless frames. Plastic lenses are twice as light as glass lenses, so glasses with them are more comfortable to wear for a long time, and plastic lenses are much less traumatic than glass lenses. Firstly, plastic itself is more resistant to breakage, and secondly, its splinters are not as sharp and dangerous.

Which lenses for glasses are more expensive?

The thinner and stronger the lenses, the more expensive they are. Lenses made of photochromic, polarizing or sunglasses are more expensive than colorless (clear) lenses. Lenses can be stock or prescription lenses. Stock lenses are cheaper - they are ready-made, in stock, and can be quickly fitted to eyeglasses.

I stopped in on a whim after shopping and ended up with a new pair of glasses! My glasses typically cost me over twice what I paid here. I would definitely recommend checking them out, especially if you’re on a budget but still want to look cute

Don’t go here! I was seen about about 4 months ago. Ordered 2 pair of glasses. Now I want to order prescription sunglasses from a different vendor. No big deal right? Call to get my prescription. They give you everything EXCEPT binocular pupil distance. Which is important if you don’t want to become cross eyed. My question is have you not charged my insurance? And me fir services rendered? And I have ordered glasses through you. Do you do have my information. How is it legal for you to withhold my personal information even after services have been paid for. How can I not get that without going to another eye place and paying for another exam? Oh and that place won’t tell you either cause guess what? There trying to strong arm you into buying through them and no one else. And that should be illegal. I paid you. Give me ALL my information. EDIT: I went to Metro Optics to renew my contact and glasses prescriptions. The service that I received at Metro Optics was exceptional until I requested my glasses prescription later to order new glasses through another company. When I received the prescription it did not have my binocular pupil distance on it which is required when ordering glasses. When I called to get this information I was told that they would only have this information if I had ordered glasses through them. I told them that I had ordered glasses through them and therefore they would have this information. I was then told that they don’t give out the information unless I’m purchasing the glasses through them. (At this point I had not given my name so they would not have been able to verify whether or not I purchased glasses through them or not). After leaving a bad review for Metro Optics they contacted me and were willing to give me the information at that time. Unfortunately it was then that I realized that I had to have my prescription done a second time to order a different brand of contacts and at that point had ordered glasses through another company. In the end they did not have this information and that is my fault for believing that they did. However, I just want to say that as a caution to future customers that they did not know I had not purchased the glasses through them when I was told that they wouldn’t give me the information. It was not until a negative review was left that they were willing to give me the information. So if you plan to try to use your glasses prescription to order glasses elsewhere that they are not forthcoming with this information. I recommend doing some research regarding the law and policies regarding the release of this information as it is a point of contention industry-wide. But the manager was very helpful in trying to resolve my problem after the negative review I just wish that it wouldn’t have taken the negative review to provide this information.

I’ve been going to see Dr Snyder for over ten years now. He’s courteous, thorough, engaged, and takes the time needed to learn about my health and to explain his recommendations and the options available to me. His staff have always been welcoming and they provide prompt, precise, and cordial service. The office is bright, clean, and inviting.
