Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

This place has the worst customer service. I always dread going. I came across the America’s best in St. Louis park and decided to give it a shot. What a world of a difference! St. Louis park location is a 10/10! I will never go here again.

Good selection, but quality is lacking. When my glasses arrived the lenses were loose, so I had to go back to the store to have them order new lenses. I have also gone back 3 times for adjustments and my glasses still don’t fit right. Every time I go back for adjustments I’m told the glasses look fine and they quickly try to get me out of the store, even though when I get home the glasses are clearly crooked. Very rude customer service. I will never get glasses here again. Costco is half the price and I have never had issues with the customer service at Costco either, glasses always fit correctly the first time there. If target can’t get my frames to fit correctly this next time, I will return them under the 90 day satisfaction rule and go get glasses elsewhere.
Beth Timm | Rating: 5 | Downtown Eyes Crosstown
Downtown Eyes Crosstown has a very pleasant atmosphere. Everyone is extremely nice and knowledgeable. I see Dr. Zastrow and feel like I am in great hands. Robert is really fun to work with when picking out frames and (in my case) showing me how to adjust to progressive lenses. He really knows his stuff! I have already recommended people go there and will continue to do so.

I scheduled two separate appointments to have myself and my kids seen. Scheduling was super easy. All the staff are incredibly kind. My daughter and I were seen quickly and even my three year old got to hop up in the chair with me. Returning the next day with my boys felt chaotic, but the staff was so kind and patient with them. The boys appointments went just as quick. We saw two different doctors and both were fabulous. I would highly recommend!
