Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?
Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.
What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?
What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

Why do eyeglasses cost so much?
Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.
What should you do before buying glasses?
Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.
What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?
The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.
How do I know which glasses fit my face?
It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.
Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?
With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

Knowledgeable, personable; just a great overall experience Surprised to see any negative reviews here— not my experience at all. Quite the opposite. Dr. Durick was knowledgeable and personable, and the customer service at the front office was a joy— even while my wife and I tried on half of the frames in the store! Between my and my wife’s interactions with the team, it was just a great overall experience.

I've been a customer of Pearle Vision for years and have always received excellent care and service from the doctors and staff at this location! The last time I was there was 8/2/2022 and Dr. Shannon Koenders was amazing in discovering the right prescription for me and showed me the difference between prescriptions which was so very helpful for me to make an informed choice about my eyeglasses. Sam also went above and beyond to not only assist me in getting new frames and lenses and not just replacement lenses but in saving me some money; it's wonderful having a pair of glasses that not only give you sight but are comfortable wearing! Thank you so much again and I look forward to continue to do business with Pearle Vision!

The absolute rudest woman named becky who is so unprofessional. We are told after my family member gets home with his new eyeglasses that he has to now pay for them out of pocket because he had cataract surgery. Only..he. Ever had this surgery before..never again will we do busniess with this place.

Paid an extra $150 out of pocket for transition lenses. Did NOT get transition lenses. Back to getting frequent migraines from the sun. Edit: It did take awhile to get ahold of the manager but once I did she got me in the very same day. They tested my glasses and found they were missing the transition coating. They had an opening in their schedule so I got a full work-up, and new glasses ordered. Very happy! Thank you! Edit #2: I thought I was getting an appointment to fix the issue with the transitions lenses. Instead, I got a new pair of glasses - and a $900 bill. NO ONE at the store told me that fixing their mistake was going to cost me so much money. They did a full exam, and ordered new glasses with transitions lenses. I expected to pay for a new pair of frames, since I chose a different pair than the original glasses were in. I did not, and was never told, that the rest of the exam wasn't part of them fixing their mistake.

I really like Dr. Januska. She listens closely and responds appropriately and she remembers and references things from prior visits. She makes relevant suggestions and offers possible alternatives. The front office staff are pleasant and helpful. Always a great experience!
