Who is an optometrist and what does he or she do?

Optometry is a branch of ophthalmology that specializes in methods of correcting vision using optometric aids. An optometrist is a specialist who determines the degree of vision impairment and prescribes corrective aids such as glasses and contact lenses.

What is the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

What is the difference between the profession of an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? An optometrist only provides initial diagnosis and can only treat refractive errors with conservative methods.

What does an optometrist do?

Functionality: eye examinations, selection of types of vision correction (glasses, lenses), recommendations on eyeglass lens designs and contact lens materials, and advanced medical services. Why do eyeglasses cost so much?

Eyeglasses are a complex optical device that is manufactured with high-precision equipment. Often expensive materials are used for the glasses. All of this explains why eyeglasses can be expensive.

What should you do before buying glasses?

Let's look at what to look for when buying eyeglasses. The first is, of course, quality. The second is the choice of lenses of glasses. Here we focus attention on the material: they can be either glass or plastic. The third is the choice of frames.

What's the difference between expensive glasses and cheap glasses for vision?

The quality and accordingly the price of the lens depends on the presence of coatings on the lenses. The higher the price, the more coatings on the lens. Coatings make our vision more comfortable. Lens manufacturers do not stand still and improve the quality of lenses.

How do I know which glasses fit my face?

It's best if the width of the frame is equal to or slightly larger than the widest part of your face. The upper line of the frames should coincide with the line of eyebrows. Smooth shapes of glasses will emphasize rounded curves of the face. To emphasize high cheekbones choose the "butterfly" or "cat-eye" glasses.

Where can I see better with glasses or contact lenses?

With lenses, you can see better, so it turns out that extra obstacles don't distort the image. Lenses don't shed dust, don't catch glare from the sun and don't distort peripheral vision-no matter where we look, the image stays sharp.

I walked in and was welcomed. They instructed me they are following protocol, continuing to be masked. I felt safe! They took me to check my eyes for glaucoma, macular degeneration, and once I saw the OD, he checked for cataracts. The eye eyam was of course painless and complete. I was escorted to another person to discuss new possibly purchasing new sunglasses. He was also very helpful and even tightened my glasses I wore in. No new glasses needed this time. Eyes stable! LOVE this place!

I had a great experience at Maple Eye Care and Eyewear. The entire staff was beyond helpful in every way. I got a great exam and my new glasses came in quick… however, I was leaving for a short trip and really wanted my new glasses. My glasses came in when the office was closed… the office called me and actually went and got my glasses from the shipper’s facility and I picked them up on my way out of town. They also have a very stylish selection of frames. The office is modern, clean and updated in every way. I recently moved to Bloomfield… I’m so glad I found them.

Great place! Friendly, helpful, professional and caring people work here.. Every different department made you feel welcome and listened to your needs and concerns.. They make coming to the eye doctor a wonderful experience. The Dr here also explained the details of my eye health and vision exam, and gave me even more ways for glasses and contact care.. This place is the best! I am looking forward to many years of working together..

I have been coming to Roland Optics for many years (over 15) and have ordered many pairs of glasses for myself and my daughters. It is not a discount house at all but it is worth it to me to pay more in order to get an accurate prescription, great glasses and good service, which they are willing to continue to perfect, within a time frame after glasses are received until you are happy with your vision. Lol Previous to seeing RO doctors I tried many other establishments and was never happy W prescriptions or glasses. Once I started here I have never gone elsewhere. Contacts may be cheaper elsewhere (not by much) but they don’t buy them back or exchange them at the end of the year for new ones OR give you samples until you are satisfied. Roland does.

Roland Optics has exceptional customer service. What a breath of fresh air. My husband and I were looking for a new eye doctor and my co-worker recommended Roland Optics. I contacted one other place that was closer to our home before I called Roland. It was a sad experience. When I called Roland they were friendly & kind from the phone call, to the receptionist who greeted us, to the ladies that took us to the examination rooms to Dr. Michael Weishaus and finally to the frames specialist, Jackson. Just nice people, but not only nice, professional. That experience started my day off on a good note. We are glad to be apart of the Roland Optics family
